Story

In 2005 Hindy’s looked at expanding and the nearby service community of Carbonear, Conception Bay seemed to be a perfect location. In June 2006 Carbonear Home Building centre opened a 7000 sq ft. (3500/retail -3500/warehouse) store.

The business soon outgrew this location and we had to decide to either expand or relocate. By mid 2009 plans were well underway to relocate to 80 Powell Drive. A new approx. 16000 sq ft retail and 50000 sq ft drive-thru indoor lumberyard and warehouse the first of its kind in the area.

Operating from this new facility the management and staff of Carbonear Home Hardware Building Centre are eager to provide fast, friendly and courteous service.

I recently built a 20x24 garage. The quote was prepared by this store and the bulk of the materials were purchased from there. The bad, I did have issues with some of the material amounts, not enough of some and too much of others. One lot of materials was left out completely, this meant several return trips to the store for returns or other purchases. The good, the materials were of good quality for the most part except for the shingles which they replaced no questions asked. The store staff are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They delivered my materials for free, (thinking this was done as I had the entire delivery dropped off in one shot). On my last trip to the store I spoke with the manager and described my experience of the numerous trips back and the reasons, she was very apologetic and understanding, upon reviewing my story she called and offered me a store gift card. In my opinion this was good business and the store will continue to be my go to store.
