Captain George's Fish and Chips

It is no longer called Captain Georges fish & chips. The Fish & chips are amazing at this location including the tartar sauce & home cut fries. The batter was nice & crisp right until the last bite. The portion of fish is probably the biggest I have ever had. The young lady & gentlemen that served us were very polite and went above & beyond + very fast service. I live in Toronto & come to Campbellford once every year or 2 and I will be coming back here every time I am in town. I would even say this place is much better then most fish & chips joint's in Toronto & would easily compete with the best. Thank you

Never been to Captain George's before this visit. The staff are wondeful, the server was easy going and great to talk to. Cook came out to ask how my food was. The food is top notch. The haddock. Is the best haddock I've had. Best fish and chips I've ever had. Highly recommend.

I've been there many times. The fish and chips are excellent. As usual its always best to eat in or soon after takeout while its crispy. The fish tastes great and l always eat in. The Halibut is expensive but it is everywhere. I usually get 2 pieces of fish no fries with cole slaw and a roll and l highly recommend it if your a fish and chip guy like me.they have been there for us during this pandemic, stop by, say hello and show them the support they need to continue to offer great fish & chips.if you can get the vaccine and enjoy life again!! We deserve it!!

Had the haddock and chips. Best fish & chip I’ve ever had. Crisp and light batter for the haddock. Fries were done perfectly, not heavy or soggy. Must have a really good deep frier. The coleslaw and tartar sauce was amazing as well. Highly recommended it.

Best fish I've had this side of Newfoundland

We enjoyed a delicious meal with some fish & ship, prawns and onion rings. Very good! Very friendly service and fair prices : definitely recommend

Had to edit my review. Absolutely terrible service. Waited 10 minutes for a menu, didn't take our drink orders until the waitress came back another 10 minutes later. Priority goes to take out orders. We were the only ones eating in. Very unprofessional.

To be honest guys to all the previous picky reviewers in the last month or so this is not the time to give bad reviews to small businesses based on tiny little things, this is the moment to support small businesses and that will come back later to all of us in good. We are a family of 4 from toronto, Food: the food was really good Some people complain about the fries, to be honest they taste way better than some high end restaurants I've been, and I don't write a bad review about the high end restaurant because the fries were soggy. We order Halibut with fries and it was really good. About the service: I think business has new ownership, and they've just been open for 2 weeks, so they are killing themself to go through bad times like this and open a business. Looks like the waiter is the owner I assume and she is serving, at the cashier and doing other stuff all alone, as soon someone finished in one table she went immediately to sanitize the while table not just cleaning. The waiter was really friendly and she went beyond to please us. I will definitely come back avery time I'm here in Ferrys.

Owners have changed many times over the last 5 or 10 years. Two years ago the food was horrible and the prices were insane! But now with the new owners, the food is really good and the prices are reasonable. Staff is also very friendly.
