Im new to area and since I love food had a craving for some fish n chips. So I found this place and decided to give it a try. Upon entry you can tell family run with love. Staff are very welcoming and happy as they had smile on their faces. I ordered the 1 halibut 5 shrimps with chips and it wasn't very oily, very lightly battered and overall was nice but not best I had or close to others ive had which is why Im not giving a 5 star rating. Would I go here again? Perhaps but Im a foodie so willing to travel to get great food but this to me is not a place Id go out of my way for.
Found hair in the batter, advised the waiter about it, I said I didn't need it to be redone since I didn't want to wait for their already slow service, he apologized and said he would tell "them" the chef I assume about it. During check-out the older gentleman at kitchen, possibly the chef/owner did not apologize, nor look us in the eye. I would give them another chance if a discount was offered on the bill. The fish was mushy, fries were average, and they give very little tartar sauce. Will go back to Stouffville Fish and Chips down the street instead.
Good place to eat fish &chips. My friend took me there from toronto. We ordered halibuts, cods and haddocks. Waitress explained that cods could smell fishy little bit, however it was good.
Enjoyed the food, wasn't greasy and the fish was battered lightly but still crispy. The staff are very friendly and polite.
Your classic fish and chips restaurant. We ordered the halibut for two meal at the recommendation of the cashier as he saw we were struggling to decide. Food was good, but nothing special. We ate our meal in the parking lot but went back in to ask for more ketchup and the cashier was very excited to see us again. Very good, friendly staff! Great customer service.
Delicious fish and chips and great service. Definitely feels like you're at a seafood place.
Fish was a little oily. Salad was good. Sitting place is really nice and staff is friendly too.
Not sure if it's changed owners at all, but had high hopes from all the other reviews noted here. Bought a two piece dinner with fries and salad. The salad was good, typical house salad but the fries were mushy and very greasy. The fish was not very good as the breading was very crusty. Even though the fish looked flaky, the batter was tasteless... Unfortunate.
Was expecting very big things due to the ratings being so well but you can tell something is different. First of all the prices are 2x what you see online. I paid $28 for two pieces of fish and fries. The fries were soggy and extremely greasy and the pieces of fish were smaller than I had hoped. For $28 I was expecting a lot more. Staff is very friendly but I feel ripped off
First off, the staff was great. Very friendly and very helpful. The fish was a little pricy given other places in the wider area. I believe they batter with a corn-starch base, it gives their fish a very light and crisp character, but a distinctly California taste think chicken balls. The French fires were regular restaurant cut rather than thick cut. It wasn't bad fish, not my first choice though.
