Capra Toro

What a great experience! Started a little slow, but the server made for it with some free foccacia. Then we ordered way too much food, portions were large. Best wood fired oven pizza, hands down. The crust was exactly how this guy likes it, chewy in the inside and covered is chruchy bubbles. Toppings were all delicious and fresh. Fresh home made pasta was top notch. Will return many times.

Had a date night here for the first time and both my husband and I were not disappointed. The portions were very generous, both of us have enough leftovers for another meal tomorrow. The waitress was so friendly and didn't rush us through our meal. Prices are extremely reasonable. Can't wait to go back for our second visit!

My husband and I went out for dinner here tonight. My husband ordered the spaghetti and meatballs. He said it was alright, nothing spectacular. I ordered the margherita pizza. Upon receiving the pizza, I thought "this looks like a cheese pizza, not a traditional margherita pizza". I let our waiter know that there was hardly any sauce and too much cheese, and they remade it for me. It was better the second time around. For dessert we ordered the three berry cannoli special, and it was a bit bland. Overall, there wasn't anything memorable about tonight's meal other than the owner, who had a great personality!

Staff was friendly hard working. Pasta was OK, Several people in our party felt it needed more sauce. Pizza Carbonara was good and well cooked.

We finally tried out Capra Toro Italian Restaurant on Hunter St and we are definitely going back there soon! Drinks were exquisite, we had the Limoncello Sprits and Martini with some delicious in house bread with a tomato based dipping sauce..YUM!! Last we shared the Pizza Margherita and Pasta Marinara and they were awesom We were too full to eat another bite but we took home a Tiramisu that I can't wait to try. Tastefully decorated space and everyone was very friendly, welcoming and helpful! Fully recommended!

love this place! went with my partner for a date night, was able to book a reservation online for the next hour. lively atmosphere with music, a cozy restaurant that’s decorated nicely. our server was friendly, and food was great! pasta was fresh and al dente. focaccia was delicious with the marinara. what i loved most about capra toro was that we didn’t feel rushed in any way! my partner and i slowly finished our meals and sat with a drink, chatting. our server waited for me to ask for the bill, he did not rush us whatsoever! this place makes such a lovely date night spot, or a great place to have dinner and drinks with some friends. open late! we will definitely visit capra toro again!

Nonna would approve . Wonderful staff, great bar menu, excellent food, great vibe. They even have a private room you can rent. We will come back again and again.Food: 5/5

Someone call Kitchen Nightmares. Their food is NOT authentic, NOT enjoyable and barely edible. If a restaurant can not prepare decent food, what’s the point? Their bruschetta pictured below for instance, came out warm, soggy and looking like a pizza. Bruschetta is supposed to be sliced baguette, toasted and topped with a tomato mixture. Not a pizza…. I’m not even Italian, yet I know that this Italian “restaurant” should not be serving food like this. Their spaghetti is drowned in Parmesan and lacks flavour and complexity. Their recipes need work. I have never been so disappointed by Italian food in my life. How do you screw up Italian food? Best thing on the menu was Cesar salad. Their cocktails are very basic, and hard to drink. Service was good, their bottled water was good. I saw other tables complaining about the food. Is this really what peterborough has to offer? Again I’m just so disappointed, can’t let things like this slide. They are charging Toronto prices for laughable quality. Come on.

Excellent meal! Never disappointed at Capra Toro. The service was fantastic thank you Jordan and our meals were delicious. Sat on the patio under the lights….magical.

Somewhat of an intimate restaurant due to small size. Nicely laid out. Food was very good. Had two different types of pizza and plenty left over to bring some home. Service was reasonably quick. The only downside was my wine glass stem broke when I went to pick it up and I ended up with very wet top and pants. Extremely uncomfortable to sit through dinner as I smelled like a winery. Oh well, maybe next time I'll be able to try dessert.
