Nice cozy restaurant with decent prices on their food items! Was happy with the meals we got and will return for sure if we are passing through town again. The restaurant and upstairs area are very old but it adds character to the place. We came for a late lunch and we’re delighted to be served quickly as there was only two other tables seated at the time.
Great little place, the food was incredible. We got the bison burger and turkey club sandwich, with chocolate explosion cheesecake and toffee pudding cake for dessert. Very impressed by all of it, and the staff. Will definitely be eating here again.
I absolutely adore this restaurant. The patio in the summer time is picturesque, the cozy interior is inviting in the winter, and the food and staff are spectacular year round! Dorset is a wildly talented chef, his specials never disappoint. Dar, Jade, and Taymar do phenomenally well serving, most especially during busy times, as servers they are efficient and throughly knowledgeable of the menu. This has been my first choice for Birthday Dinners, and nights out for pints, I love this restaurant, and would implore others to give it a chance as well.
Great food here. A variety of dishes on the menu. Good servers. It is in an old unique house. Would be nice if there was more space, however a nice small setting is good too. Patio in the warmer weather would be great I bet. Good bar. They do have some kid friendly meals too.Recommended dishesJerk Chicken, Bison Burger, Chicken Wings with Coleslaw, Fish and Chips, Hamburger and Fries with Cheese
As a big fan of duck meat, the duck from the duck poutine appetizer was okay. Like many establishments, there were more carbs than protein in that dish. I had the Caper's Fried Chicken burger, which had a substantial serving of chicken. I had half salad, half fries. Decent portions, cozy atmosphere.Food: 3/5
My husband, daughter and I have just enjoyed an amazing meal at Capers. The 2 page menu is very diverse and yet not overwhelming with something interesting for everyone. We ordered 3 very different meals: the Coconut Thai Rice Noodles, the baby beef liver with onions and the Jerk Chicken Curry - each was exceptional and exceeded our expectations. Very talented chef and warm, friendly professional service. Highly recommend Capers and we will definitely be back.
We have been here a few times, had different menu items each time, they dont disappoint. Everything is extremely tasty. Would HIGHLY recommend. They offer patio as well as indoor dining, the only downfall is the bathroom is on the second floor so its not handycap accessible.
I love this restaurant! It's located in a late 1900s, heritage house, close to the main bridge and has an inside, sit down area as well as a beautiful patio. The food never disappoints and the menu is quite diverse with plenty of options to satisfy any palate. The chef is very personable and chatty when he has the time. We've indulged in many of the specials but the brisket and lamb dishes stand out as spectacular and full of flavour! Portions are perfect and the wait once you order your food is reasonable. It's always a pleasure to visit Capers.
In Campbellford for a night and decided to try Capers Tap House. Ordered take out so we could enjoy the meal by the water. They have a good selection of items and are one of the few restaurants open on a Sunday. The staff are friendly and the chef came out to chat for a bit while our order was being packed up. We ordered: 1. Mussels in white wine sauce with garlic toast. It was too salty for me but was able to pair it with the side of mashed potatoes I had with my main course to combat the saltiness 2. Jerk Curry Chicken. Served with rice and peas, roasted veggies and naan bread. Really like the naan bread. The flavour of the jerk chicken is good. 3. Lamb shank served with mashed potatoes and seasonal veggies. The vegetables were delish especially the red beets which were sweet and not mushy. The lamb was a tad dry but super tasty. Overall a satisfying meal. If you’re in the area be sure to give them a try.
The food was excellent and so was the service. The restaurant has a very nice ambiance and a cozy bar. We will visit again soon!!
