I had the privilege of studying in the Post-Baccalaureate Business Analytics program at CBU, and it was an incredibly enriching journey. During my studies, I worked a student job, which not only added to my learning experience but also provided valuable professional exposure. I was also fortunate to secure an internship with the marketing team, which significantly enhanced my knowledge and gave me my first professional work experience in Canada.nnThe support and guidance from the community, including fellow students and staff, were outstanding. Despite facing challenges such as housing and managing a job, the experience of learning, growing, and building connections in a new country was truly rewarding. The university's supportive environment made all the difference in my personal and professional development.
A close-knit university community like no other! CBU is constantly working at improving the student experience. The campus is well taken care of, with upgrades always underway, and great facilities. The community like aspect of the university allows for you to consistently see familiar faces. The generous staff at CBU provide high levels of education while wanting to see you achieve. I believe that some of the opportunities you can create at this university are not present in other places. From my experience, the Cape Breton University staff/professors/administration feel much more like your friends than superiors. Who wouldn't want that?
The CBU employees I have worked with over the past 7+ years never lose sight of doing what is best for our students. They could easily chose what is easiest for their budget, their department, their staff comfort, but they weigh every decision against what best serves students and their diverse needs. When you come to CBU to study, you will be well cared for and well educated - you just need to reach out, get involved and ask!
I have always been a proud member of CBU. First as a student, taking my first two years of engineering - then as Alumni and now as a faculty member. I can't stress enough how wonderful of a community it is here - especially for new university students. Small class sizes, ample student employment opportunities and a strong communication connection - so many reasons to consider CBU :
As a graduate of Cape Breton University CBU, I can confidently say that my online learning experience was nothing short of extraordinary. While my degree program was delivered virtually, CBU’s commitment to creating a personalized and supportive educational environment made me feel connected and valued every step of the way. Despite being miles away, it never felt like I was studying alone.nnFrom the very beginning, the staff at CBU went above and beyond to ensure that I had all the resources I needed to succeed. The professors were not just instructors—they were mentors who genuinely cared about my academic progress and personal growth. Their dedication to my success was evident in the personalized feedback they provided, their willingness to engage with students individually, and their constant encouragement.nnThe Education department, in particular, was phenomenal. The faculty members fostered an environment that felt more like a family than a classroom. There was always a sense of camaraderie among students, and it was clear that the department was deeply invested in helping us develop both professionally and personally. The collaborative nature of the program made it easy to build meaningful connections, despite the physical distance, and I always felt that I had a strong support system in place.nnWhat stood out most to me was the sense of community at CBU. The university’s commitment to student success went beyond just academics; it was about ensuring that every student felt empowered and capable of achieving their goals. From tailored academic support to career guidance and personal well-being initiatives, CBU was dedicated to providing a holistic and enriching experience for all of its students.nnThe support I received, coupled with the incredible faculty and the overall sense of belonging, made my time at CBU a truly transformative experience. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have been part of such a supportive, inclusive, and dedicated community, and I look forward to staying connected with CBU for years to come
