Great place for a family ski day! Went with my husband and daughter X-Country Skiing. Well groomed trails with lots of snow. There was a warming hut and washroom halfway along the trail, and a cafe/info/washrooms at the Nordic Centre. Had a great time!

My 11yr old needed rentals which was posted as $6 for 2hrs. When I went to pay they told me it would be $12 because he needed one size bigger boot then they say there kids boots go to. My son is even on the small size. I would not have even minded paying a buck or two more but not double. On their ski rental price board it doesn't say anything about an up charge for if your kid has big feet or needs longer poles or skis. The rentals prices don't say you will get charged the price of two kid rental packages. NOT FAIR a kid is a kid regardless of their size. For the rentals and customer service treatment I would rate it -10. Hills are ok. They are nicely groomed, clear maps and tracks for different levels. NOT FAIR!!! RENTALS -10

The trails here are fantastic quality, lots of variety and choice, good grooming, and nice views. The food and coffee at the day lodge are actually also quite good, and the equipmemt shop has a lot of good gear for sale. However--and this is a big however--the maps and trail markings are some of the worst I've ever seen. The trails are a complicated spiderweb of interconnected stubs and loops, which wouldn't necessarily be a problem. But the popular loops named on the map (lighted 6.5 km, and the 11, 13, and 12 km loops) are given the same colours as the difficulty ratings (green, blue, black, and yellow) with nothing to distinguish the loop from other trails that share that colour. Some junction numbers appear more than once at different spots on the trails and map. Junctions don't mention these popular loops at all. If you don't know these trails well you are forced to stop and look at the maps at every junction in order to avoid going through wrong way, which sort of gets in the way of a nice smooth ski. Overall I'd say the maps definitely need fixing with better marking for the four popular loop trails, and the trails could probably also stand some simplification, removing some of the connections, overlaps, shortcuts, and crossings. It would make navigation a lot easier and the map a lot less of a spaghetti bowl of squiggly lines.

Visited the Nordic Centre in August for some biking. Pretty good variety of trails. Vary from greens to black diamonds. decent variety from a 100m trails to a few km. One complaint is that some of the green trails are a bit cramped, there's this section of mainly green trails where it looks like they took 30m x 30m squares of forest, cut down everything around it, and create a winding path within it.

You can ski (xcountry), fat tire bike and snowshoe here. Vast network of ski trails. Snowshoeing limited but FREE! Beautiful area, friendly people.
