Candlelight Inn Restaurant - Rock Falls Illinois

I travel the state for work and this is by far one of the best places I have eaten. From St. Louis to Chicago, it is among the best. The atmosphere is amazing for a quiet dinner or a family meal. The service is fast and friendly. The food is superb. Their chicken George is so much more than just chicken tenders. The best chicken strips I've had in my life. A must have. Everything my work partner and myself had was nothing but excellent. From the salad to the steak and pasta. I don't understand how this place is not packed. This is a must visit if you're anywhere near this amazing place.

If you find yourself near Rock Falls or Sterling Illinois come around lunch or dinner time and come HUNGRY! We found this gem by accident on the way home from Iowa. Had no expectations but the reviews were great. The decor and music are charming and the service was top notch: friendly, professional and fast. We never had to ask for beverage refills, they just appeared like magic. The food: oh the food! We had never tasted the House Specialty “Chicken George,” so our server quickly brought samples for all, fresh from the fryer and lava hot. Wow! We’re hooked. The soup, salad, entrees were delicious, perfectly prepared and very generous. Needless to say we’ll be back. Sad and grateful this place isn’t closer to us or we’d be in TROUBLE!! Put this place in your GPS and stop by.

A employee (Tom) from Candlelight Inn completely messed up my son and his girlfriends once in a lifetime event. My son had earlier called and made reservations for 6 and that was to let the parents of each know about the news. His girl friend called to add a few people to the reservation and loud mouth Tom told her she could not as it was a surprise as the guy was asking someone to marry him. Now what kind of dim whit would tell a female that a guy was going to ask that question.... Well enough about that idiot Tom but after she shed a lot of tears and made several phone calls. My son still asked for her hand in marriage and we still went through with the meal at Candlelight Inn and all everyone would say that night was they were sorry. The waitress that night could not believe that all management would say was sorry. Heck she was near tears when I explained what had happened. SORRY that's it after one of their IDIOT employee’s wrecks one of the most special days in a couples live... Sorry.... I asked that night that they get in touch with my son and offer them there apologies but no one has contacted him so now we plan to let everyone know NOT to go there or have anything special there as they do nothing special back for anyone. Oh Candlelight sorry

The food and service was delightful. The Chicken George was incredibly succulent and tender. I enjoyed the veggie pasta bake as my main course and was thrilled with the filling and the veggies. We ate on patio which was beautiful. I loved the trees and the wall. See if was excellent too!

Great service. Good food. Management really cares about serving good food. I ordered the combo with chicken and prime rib and before it was even sent out the manager came by. He informed me he was not happy that only the end cut was left and it was not medium rare like I ordered. Told me he was going to discount my meal. The food was still delicious and I probably would not have complained. Refreshing to see an establishment that cares about the food and it's customers to be proactive.
