Nice beach . It's still early in the season and facilities are closed. The weather is starting to get nice, maybe summer will finally show its face. There is a ton of nearly kept trails, and the sunset / sunrise are gorgeous here on lake huron. I prefer the sunrises as there are very few people in the morning. Plenty of parking and benches to just sit and relax to enjoy the park. A note to dog owners, the beaches are off limits to them as the city has a bylaw in place, although I've seen a few people walking their dogs early on. Personally i have no issues with that as all the owners I've seen are responsible.
Spacious, lush with protected sand dunes & brilliant blue waters of Lake Huron. Secluded park & beach areas with adjoining amenities. Picnic areas, trails & footpaths located in the park, ideal for running, strolling or cycling. Ample parking, no fees & easy access to park with varied areas.
Nice and Clean, Easily Accessible Park! My family and I made a brief stop last summer Aug 2021 at this place to have a glimpse of famous clear bluish waters of Lake Huron. Everything I read about was true. It's unfortunate we didn't swim because of time constraints and weather very sunny but cool & windy. I marked this place on my itinerary for the next time we visit.
This is a nice area to have picnic or go fir a short trail with your dogs. The area is clean and very accessible. You can also see different wild lifes when you go for your walk. Watching sunset here is also incredible.
Waves lapping on the shore. Sounds of happiness fills the air. Polished rocks at your feet. Sand that smells like a candle, or, is it a candle that smells like this sand? Enjoy nature's spa at Canatara Beach & Park.
Always love this beach when I come home. It is generally always clean and well taken care of. Early mornings for the dogs to enjoy it too!
Excellent park. Don't be fooled this park is big and has a beach right next to it. There is a playground on the other end of the roundabout towards the Cove point. It's suited for you get kids in the age range of 3 to 8. There is a washroom right next to the playground and right before you enter the roundabout when you enter the park. The park has lots of green spaces to relax, sleep or play sports. There are many a beaches and tables available for a large group as well. The beach is further ahead from the playground right after the roundabout. Parking is free here as well and anywhere in the park. There are two entries to the beach from this point. The right has stones on the beach, the water is very choppy and is steep. Not suited for kids shorter than 4 feet whereas if you take a left you will reach a smaller beach area that is sandy, less choppy. This is the Cove area as you can see on the map. Overall a very beautiful park with free working, access to beach, washroom and a playground.
Beautiful beach, convenient, popular but not too busy. Not all soft sand but the view is just amazing on a sunny day
Can not say enough about this place. It is the best place to be when you feel a bit off or sad. Especially the sunsets are so soothing in a way that you will forget every thing that is going on in your life and fall into this place's beauty.
Enjoying the crystal clear Azure Blue Waters of Lake huron- there's a reason they call this area. Bluewater and you can see it in the water- took the grandkids down for a swim. They had a blast- lifeguards are on duty, the water is clean and cool and refreshing- do yourself a favor and take the kids down and have a ball
