Canalta Melfort

Stayed for two nights. Very nice room and lots of room. The place is very clean and the bed was super comfortable. There is a large parking lot in rear for longer vehicles. Along with plug ins. Great breakfast. Sausage,eggs,hash browns.?Coffee and tea. Fruit , fresh waffles. Toast, cereal. Lobby has a fireplace when u walk in. Sheldyn. Was very polite and helpful. Makes u feel like your right at home. Cozy and warm. Had a decent gym . Hot tub was not working but looks like they are repairing it.

It’s not very often that a company could get a full five star review because not everybody is perfect. I’ve stayed at CANALTA hotels for the past two years and I must say that the Melfort location brings something that you just don’t find in a big city. The warm, caring hospitality of each of their staff members is so welcoming. Things do happen and mistakes are made, but the effort that they put in to making it right is more than deserving of a five star review. I love this hotel, and I would highly recommend anybody travelling through this area, to stay here. My name is Stuart and I give Canalta hotel Melfort a two thumbs up. The hotel is what I've come to expect from a Canalta. What I didn't expect was to be charged such a high rate but I guess they can get away with it being the only decent hotel in Melfort now. Free breakfast is pretty standard but it appeared the staff were having trouble keeping up with the large groups they had booked the weekend we were there wedding, hockey teams, track and field teams. Room keys are a nightmare. As one of the staff kindly explained, the key cards they make use of are not made for the readers they have on the doors. This leads to the cards not working well on some doors and often having to get replacement keys. The two nights we stayed for, we had to get 5 sets of keys made for us as they just stopped working. TV in the room is bog-standard Access Cable on a small TV unit. Nothing special and a very basic channel package. The rooms themselves were pretty standard with a mini-fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom was clean on first look but detailed areas are definitely being missed by housekeeping the underside of the soap dispenser was gross. All in all, for $170/night I'd expect better. Either their rates should come down to match the hotel or they need to offer something more for the price.

The guest service agent who check me in was wonderful! Unfortunately their hot tub and steam room were out of order. Our room was clean enough, except for by the exterior door. There were many bugs in a spider web and squished on the wall, as well as one perfect mosquito dead on the wall. Our room was next to the stairwell and I was woken up multiple times throughout the night by stomping or yelling. Didn't get a chance to try breakfast as we left before it started. There's a slippery ice patch on their walkway outside. Due to the building's design it drips from the roof. Very dangerous.

The room was clean with enough space for everything. The bed is comfortable. And the breakfast was very nice also. Safety: This hotel looks well maintained with both a deadbolt and a hotel lock. Not sketchy at all.

Very friendly front end staff, clean rooms and a quiet stay!

Clean rooms, friendly staff, good selection for breakfasts. I didn't go in the hot tub but my brother in law sad it was very relaxing. I would stay there again and recommend it to family.Rooms: 5/5

Room was dirty, sesame seeds and hair in the one bed. Floor was also dirty with food and sesame seeds. Front desk only offered discount, no offer to switch rooms or have housecleaning to come. I slept in the other bed which appeared to be clean but wasn't overly confident in that as the rest of the room was such a mess. I;ve stayed there lots and never had an issue but wasn't impressed with the customer service I received from the first front desk employee on check in, employee at check out did what she could to fix it by giving me the night free as that was all that she could really do at that point.

Well appointed, quiet rooms, Friendly, knowledgable staff. Comfortable lobby with lots of seating. Good complimentary buffet style breakfast with waffle maker.Rooms: 5/5
