Customer service is terrible. They have these buttons you push for Customer service for items that are locked up in display cases. Customers push the button and staff is paged over the intercom and everyone including customers can hear it. The problem is one has to wait and wait and wait for long periods of time. If a customer gets tired of waiting and seeks out an employee for assistance generally are told " that isn't my department but I can send someone over" then the customers have to continue to wait. Often they have to wait so long that the button stops flashing and the customers have to push the button a second time and continue to wait. It is then that help generally arrives but be prepared for the employee to know nothing about the product. Customer service at this store is atrocious. One can travel 45 minutes away to Dawson Creek and go to Canadian Tire there and customer service is great. Just a warning if on a time frame do NOT shop Canadian Tire in Fort St John unless you can't find your product elsewhere
I enjoy the new store, so much easier to navigate then the old store. Couple things I have noticed is that they sometimes take a few extra minutes when you hit a button to request assistance. I've also noticed that when you go looking for someone after waiting that you usually have to walk the whole store to find someone. Other than those couple of issues I have, I think it's a great store.
Tried the new on-line order process. It's not so hot. Just know that you should park at the far end of the building if doing this and avoid having to walk the entire length of the store only to get locked out by those stupid auto panels that won't let you walk back through the store with your purchase. So, you will have to walk outside on poorly maintained snow removal. The QR code scanner doesn't work. There are no signs pointing the way to where the lockers are, and when it says "Show Staff" your QR code, it means try and scan it until you get fed up and enter the code. All in all, has great potential, but for now it feels like the black sheep of their services - only offered because they have to and not given good placement in the store.
I work part-time as an international student to help pay my living expenses. I visited the Canadian Tire Service Center this morning to have my car fixed. They replaced my back brake light despite my request that they change my front fog light. I bought it, and I waited there for almost five hours. The man with specs and the woman at the front desk not mentioning their name here provided such terrible customer service. I'm new to this city, fsj, and I'm really sorry about my Canadian Tire experience. Invoice no 20036300046413
I bought a carpet cleaner and It didn't get the smell out of my carpet so it didnt suit the purpose i bought it for . it was a big hassle returning it even when they said i can return it within 30 days of use . I felt like i was treated like a liar and had to fight for a return that was Initially promised to me. The manager was a bit condescending but in the end i finally got my return. Hopefully they treat the next customer right .
Returned a purchase that was defective, easy exchange, courteous staff at customer service desk. There are some good people working at this store, just rarely seen. Constant staff turnover. Mostly stocked shelves, too few helpful staff. Nice selection of Canadian Tire products. Handicapped parking stalls, poorly marked, are usually taken by non handicapped. Not impressed.
New store has more space, more stuff but I give 4 stars because they had a bunch of Filipinos that they do not help. I do not know if is because the way they are or it is a lack of training.

I bought this shark slide it was marked at 12.99 they charged me 16.99 for it I went to customer service to get the difference back and they would not help me, they said the price of the item does not Match the shelf price so they can not do anything about it. I expect walmart to have miss priced items, bad service, and poor Attitudes not Canadian tire.
If I lived in Canada this is where I would shop. Much more than just a tire shop. If you are American and driving through Canada stop and get yourself some scepter gas cans without those pesky “no spill” spouts.
