Canadian Tire

I used to love this store. But their NEW policy is that you can only exchange your product with a similar product that costs equal or more. NO IN Store credit, forget the return. I bought car bulbs from here which were unsatisfactory, I could only buy different set of car bulbs, nothing else from store. Not really buying anymore from this store.

I found my product but it’s locked inside, I can’t find any associate from last 15 minutes. I found one but she didn’t opened it and told us to wait and she will be sending someone. After more 10 waiting no one came. Not only me but there were other customers too who were searching them.nI request canadian tire to hire more associates or manage them properly.nThanks

I am writing to express my frustration when dealing with the supposedly “Manager” which I would not know for certain as there was not a name tag. I went in on Wednesday July 3rd to return a Mastercraft bottlejack item #009-1533-8 within the 4 weeks of purchase. I informed the “Manager” that I had opened up the item and it was too high for what I needed it for and she said “oh so you used it” and I responded that I had only tried it but it didn’t work so I placed it back in the box and tried to return it when I had time. She then proceeded in saying with attitude she would not accept it because it’s been used. On the following day I returned to try and return this item with proof of purchase and the item in its box the same way I bought it. The same Manager was there and I tried again to return it with the receipt and she automatically went on to say that there are no returns on jacks only exchanges. Which was not mentioned at all the first time or stipulated anywhere on the receipt or the aisle I got the item from or the website. She had a horrible attitude and terrible customer service and proceeded the tell me the item had been used. She made me feel like a criminal as if I was doing something wrong when I was fully honest with her since the beginning. So I went back to the aisle and grabbed 2 of the remaining same jacks that were on clearance and I showed her the ones that they had for sale were missing parts and were damaged. She didn’t like that I was forward and she walked away and ignored me and went on to see other customers. When asking her if she was coming back to help me as I waited for 10 minutes she said she wasn’t going to deal with me. After awhile she returned and when I asked her what would be done she called someone else and said the same thing that there are no returns or exchanges on jacks and then she walked out and I asked for her name to another employee and she said she would have to call her to ask for permission to give her name. Then I got her name “Linda”and the wrong phone number to call customer service. I then went to the parking lot and searched for the correct customer service number and spent 30mins explaining the situation and still waiting to hear back so I can get my full money back.

This store is ridiculous. Under staff with whatever staff there is has no knowledge. If you are lucky to find 1 person working in the store and ask the question, that person will point you to the wrong aisle. The managers are always on a phone taking a personal call. I have heard it with my own ears and didn't know he was a manager until I was cashing out. The customer service desk treats everyone returning products as a criminal. The store manager is never available when you ask for him. If you leave your information for him to call you, he never returns your call. Honestly, Canadian retail sector is struggling and this store is a perfect example of why retail is struggling. They should be taught a lesson or two in customer service.

Mark from the auto counter was phenomenal! Truly the best customer service I have ever received. I made an error when ordering tires and he was such amazing support through every part of process and made sure I left with the right tires. Such a great guy and amazing customer service rep for your location! I will be back soon to do my brakes and hope I deal with Mark again. MARK YOU ARE THE BEST!
