AMAZING service from Party City at this Canadian Tire location. I wanted to send my son, a student at STFX, a balloon bouquet to celebrate his birthday since I couldn't be with him because I live in another province. Party City was the only place I could find in Antigonish that has balloon bouquets, but they don't technically deliver, which I totally understand. However, Alf went above and beyond to help me get the balloons to my son. He told me how to order online and arranged to have them delivered. I believe the owner's wife, my apologies if this is wrong, offered to deliver them to the campus free of charge - just out of the goodness of her heart! I'll be making a donation to Canadian Tire's Jumpstart program to thank them and pass on the kindness. I'm so thankful for all the help!!
They have a greater variety thsn the Port Hawkesbury store - but staff are at a premium. I was the only person near the cash when I came in the doors, and spoke to a manager-type lady at the front desk to buy a simple propane tank. She pointed me away, and said, 'speak to her', another young cashier next to her, but for access one needs to go around all their displays, to another cash - by the time I got around their 'convenience junk maze' someone was in front of me, no holding my place though I was there first while I ran the gauntlet. It was TWENTY MINUTES while the young cashier I was sent to tried to sort through this person's online ordering issues. The only other cashier had people backed up 8 or 10 deep before they called for more cashiers, and that was at least 5 minutes. FINALLY, the guy in front of me had his online issue sorted, and I was next. Then the cashier I was specificalky sent to had no idea how to ring in a new tank of propane - and the FIRST senior staff woman I spoke to 25 minutes ago now had to had to come snd show her how to do it. Well at least I now know how to ring propane ranks in...
I bought balloons for a friend today and was helped by a very friendly and patient employee Sawyer. The young man was helpful with providing advice on the product and dealing with myself and my friends endless joking as we do love to laugh. He kept a smile on his face with every far too lengthy decision making process and even made small connections with myself and my amigo. In the end we were helped quickly, efficiently, expertly and kindly by your sweet Sawyer. Thank him again for us.
Have fun calling this place and actually being able to talk to someone, called on a Wednesday afternoon, tried for a hour a half to get a hold of someone, called every department, multiple times, not 1 person answered the phone from customer service, to automotive, seasonal, hardware etc, terrible customer service to say the least.
Love this store. Everything well laid out. Always good specials. Lots of choices
