I really enjoyed my visit to the Canadian Aviation Museum. There's a nice balance between airworthy aircraft and restoration projects. Nice to see the progress on the Lancaster and Mosquito projects. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The day we were there they had a Harvard, Chipmunk and Stearman flying. Great to watch them taxi out fir their flight. Highly recommended!
Really enjoyed my visit to this unique space. The history and stories behind the exhibits were very informative and intriguing. Our tour guide Keleen think that was her name, was very friendly and interactive. The staff and persons working there were all friendly and tool time out of working on planes to chat with us. One highlight was meeting Ron,an ex pilot who has a plane in his honour on display. He was so amiable and you can see his passion and satisfaction from years in aviation. The display areas were good and the "Bad Penny" story really resonated. Had to get the book. Excellent learning opportunity for teaching history if you are an educator as well.
Great collection of historic aircraft in static displays, while being refurbished, and that you can ride! The best part of our visit was the people who work and volunteer their time to share the stories of the collection and their passion for preserving these legendary legacies. We expected to be there a couple of hours; we were happy to continue exploring right up until closing time.
Enjoyed talking with the folks at the Aviation Museum. Didn't know that you can book flights in their restored planes. Planning to do that one day.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
Amazing aircraft on display My tour guide was very knowledgeable and took his time in delivering a pleasant experience They have a gift shop and some of their aircraft are available for "stick time"
This is a great example of a small, specialized, volunteer-run aviation museum. As the space started life as a flight training school in the second World War, they have a number of rare, vintage trainers - plus a couple of other significant aircraft.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Awesome place with, a fair price, around 11 CAD, and you can have the opportunity to fly in one of the planes with an expert pilot for a good priceVisited onWeekend
Small but great place. My wife and I showed up about 45 minutes before closing and they happily gave us a tour. They have several restoration projects going and welcomed us to take as many pictures as we wanted. Also, all the work being done is by volunteers who are passionate about Canadan aviation history.
This place is a Hidden Gem in the city of Windsor. With an amazing tour and veterans walking around, reminding you of things they did during the war, this museum is absolutely amazing. I recommend this to anyone who visits Windsor and wants to learn about the history of this great City. The connection to the second world war end to Pilots being trained, it's an amazing way to get connected to the city. With to full restoration is being conducted currently, it's an amazing place to see a part of history and to touch aircraft that have been in combat. I recommend this tour to anyone of any age. Hours of operation are limited throughout the winter season. But summer hours are a full 5 days open.
The visit to museum was a great experience. Frank was a patient guide imparting his wisdom and also allowing my daughter to play around with toys in the museum.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
