Canadian Energy Museum
"On February 13, 1947, the Imperial Leduc No. 1 well was brought in, forever changing Alberta's Energy story. This monumental discovery was the key to the success of Alberta's petroleum industry. The well was decommissioned in 1974, ad our museum opened on the historic well-site in 1997. Today, the Canadian Energy Museum strives to share and celebrate Canada's Energy Story, exploring everything from coal and petroleum to future innovations in geothermal and biomass energy production."

Great museum to gain knowledge into Alberta's oil history. It's well maintained and staff are very friendly. I would highly recommend this place for a great family day trip. It also has a campsite with 20 spots with clean washrooms & showers and a multi-use hall that can be booked for official/personal events for 120-150 persons.
See oil industry started from here, and grew to main economic industry for Canada. Historically tell you all aspects of oil technology and understand what it means to this country.
A good selection of history of the energy industry in Canada and Alberta. Would be a good experience if you have a lot of industry experience or little industry experience. From exploration onshore to offshore, to the processing side the museum covers most aspects of early oil and gas.
Interesting and informative displays. A variety of positive Canadian oilfield histories and timelines on display. Not much on the future of energy in Canada.
Very fun and educational museum, you can learn about the start of The Town of Devon.
Very cool museum! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, fun exhibits and large space. Worth a visit for sure! Also the gift shop us very good :
The CEM is working very hard to reflect the modern state of Canada's technologically- advanced energy industry while still telling the story of it's past. I am excited to see where they go!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure

We had only been to this campground a couple times last year, but this year we are thoroughly impressed with all the positive changes that have taken place with the campground. We have been staying here quite often this year and so far, each time we return the campground just keeps getting better. The grounds look amazing with all the new flowers, plants, gardens and trees. The camp areas are well groomed and organized. The bathrooms and showers are always very well kept and clean. They have a concession in the office where they sell all sorts of goodies, chips & ice cream we sampled a double scoop of strawberry marble yum!, lighters etc.. Lolly and Gary, the Camp Hosts have been doing a fantastic job and all of their hard work clearly shows throughout the campground, they are absolutely amazing, friendly and hardworking people! We are planning to go back next month and we can’t wait to see what new projects and changes have happened since our last trip out there.
A super place to visit and learn how Alberta became known as Oil Country. This place has all the information and facts on how it all began. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and passionate about our Alberta Oil History. I would highly recommend this place for a great family day trip location. The kids will love it.
