Steaks are delicious and fresh here. If you want good meat you buy it at Cochrane Safeway. Decent prices and a pretty good selection. Bought probably 50 Rib Grilling steaks from here when they’re on sale and words can’t even describe how satisfied I was with my food. Much better than save-on-foods in Cochrane, as they most likely dye their meat.
Ordered flowers for a Birthday 3 days ahead of time. Came to pick up at specified time. No one there and person who helped me could not find order. I had received confirmation emails and even a phone call to confirm so thought all was well. Girl called the florist at home and she said "oh I meant to do that yesterday". Excuse me! Meant to do it. What about fullfilling orders that have already been paid for. So I ended up just having to take an ordinary bouquet of flowers from there so I had something. Nobody cared. Not acceptable. Will never order from them again!
13th December 2022 How is this store still open to the public, when there is a really pervasive chemical smell at the front of the store? Think using paint spray cans in an unventilated, enclosed space. Customers were walking around with their faces covered. Deli staff were asking to go out for some fresh air. The masked checkout staff were starting to cough and cough and cough. Customers were complaining to one another of headaches and light-headedness. Myself included. I have left with a banging headache and using my asthma inhaler. Environmental Health need to come and check you out! The fruit and veg will all be contaminated. As will the deli meats and such. It's just pure greed! Completely unacceptable!
Safeway pricing is getting out of control. The same products at Walmart are much cheaper. I know all the prices are up right now but theirs is crazy. For 2 weeks no one answered the pharmacy phone. There's definitely not enough self checkouts anymore.
My husband just got back from Safeway. I was concerned because it was taking him so long. The store was busy and only one till was open. He waited in line forever. Eventually more tills opened and they called over people from the bank of the line instead of the ones that had been there the longest. This is a poorly run store. We won’t be back till Reno’s are done and management improves. This in no way reflects on the pharmacy, they are simply wonderful!!
Almost good enough but not quite there. i couldn’t find the deli for 45 minutes and no one offered to help me after i began to cry in the cat food isle. i paid $25.99 for a loaf of ‘premium’ bread. what is this? gas? in British columbia??!? i did feel objectifyed by an all to curious service dog who I was informed was named bentley. he sniffed my behind then tried to lick it !?!?!?!??? I mean maybe that’s the service he provides? But gross!! I did find a very attractive gentleman by the name of Mike. only redeeming quality.
The new renovations at this store are hideous, hard to see a store look worse after a Renovation. Glad the price gouging is being put to good use. Also scene points card is just one more card tracking purchases. Hopefully no frills and save on at least stay the same for a while.
Absolute joke!! I go in tonight to buy half dozen cupcakes for a bday party, no one available in the bakery. So I go over to where the hot food is a ask if someone can help me, to which the guy replied go see Ethan at customer service and he can help you out. So I go down and talk with Ethan just to find out that I cant buy any bakery items behind glass after 7:00pm. Like is this a joke or what? You turn down a $24 cupcake sale because of what? I could have literally opened up the glass and grabbed them myself and then they would have had no Choice, but nope!! Worst store ever!
I understand the place is undergoing renovations, but it is always busy and there are never enough tellers! Why is that? The line-ups are huge too! There are definitely better places to get groceries in town...
Laughable. The check out person just keeps piling my stuff on the belt. Eventually I asked for some bags so I could start bagging. She says "Oh. Most people bring their own." I replied "Most checkouts ask." She gave me a bizarre look then started arguing with me about it. I found it all so strange. Just let me bag my stuff and get out.
