Postal service used to be good here, but that changed within the last couple of years or so. Now, I'm afraid to have any online order sent to my home, because not only will they not even attempt to deliver it, they'll simply shove and smoosh it into the community mailbox. Not the bigger slot for oversized parcels...no, not at all. Just the small, very limited in size box that serves our house. I've had books damaged, because instead of putting the parcel in the oversized boxes (there are six to eight of them there, so it's not like there's limited availability), the delivery person rolled them up and jammed them in along with our letters. I cared about those books. Then the same thing happened with clothing items I ordered. Expensive gifts. He didn't care. Then, when I got something in a moderately sized box, he decided to put it in the smaller of the two bigger boxes, but erred there too. Why? Well, the box was as big as the space he put it into, save for a small bit of space around the edges. It could go in, but was tough to get out because of the locking mechanism on the door, which blocked it every time. So I had to spend 5 minutes inching the box out in the cold, wondering if I'd ever get it out. I've called this post office and complained. Someone actually got back to me once and told me that all of my deliveries would be sent to the Courtice post office for pick-up. I said fine, because it's better than dealing with stuff being damaged due to gross ignorance and incompetence. Well, that lasted for about two deliveries and now it's back to the same thing, so I've decided to get a Flex Delivery address and now have everything sent to the post office. I don't trust that jerk. Not only did I talk to them that time, but I also filed online complaints a couple of times, called them myself and sent emails to the Ombudsman of Canada Post, who looked into it and called back. Has it changed? No. Other people on this same road tell me they're dealing with the same thing.

We used to have an amazing person delivering our mail to the central box. I recently ordered a gift for my granddaughter and my husband saw the present employee jamming our mail into the small box? The box for the gift was damaged. Thankfully the gift was not harmed. We will be watching for the next delivery to see of the Canada Postal worker takes more care with future parcels?
