I was very disappointed to see this location was closed to the public during the Covid-19 pandemic, even though all the waste management facilities in the Edmonton area are still open, but just are not taking cash payments. And Waste Management is considered an Essential Service according to the Alberta Government's website. I pay high lakefront property taxes and some of that money goes towards the operation of this facility. Because it was closed I had to haul a load 100 kms to a facility on the east side of Edmonton, and pay $71.00 by Tap to dispatch it. Why is this facility closed to the public? Why can't they also just take Tap so there is no contact with the customer? Why am I paying high property taxes and getting no service from this agency? And last of all, how long will they stay closed to the public, denying people of what is listed as an essential service?
