The new pads are fabulous, bright, open and lovely change rooms.nThe access to washrooms isn't great and signage doesn't exist.nThe only access to the stands is out the front, up the stairs and through the restaurant. This is quite a distance and not convenient. I hope there are plans to have other access.
The changing rooms have a lot of space that can fit an entire team with ease. The 4 ice pads allow for a plethora of activities to go on at the same time with quick but still effective zamboni service. The bar has a good selection of food and drink with good wings to back it up.
Attended a huge kids hockey tournament there yesterday. A tale of 2 different worlds between #1 & #2 rinks which are modern and spacious.nnRinks 3 & 4 are probably 50 years old and the most unusable for spectators as there are no seats and you can only watch behind the glass for one half of the rink.nnThe crowding in the hallways and single door entrance and exit was totally unsafe and frustrating. We finally made our way to the far end of #3 ice pad for some space but the floor was loose wood planks which felt quite unstable. Terrible housekeeping with 2 large stepladders laying on the narrow floor and other equipment blocking the exit.nnRinks 3 & 4 are quite suitable for adult games but not for the type of crowds yesterday. The Fire Department should do an inspection some busy weekend.
Great complex. Really impressed with the renovations on the hockey rinks and viewing area!
Played shinny here. The ice is not the best and the rooms are kind of small and funky, but its great for shinny. There is a restaurant overlooking the ice so if you want to watch the game, you can enjoy a drink while watching. its an older facility but fine for some shinny. I think its private and not part of city's facilities.
