The restaurant had a nice homey ambiance inside. The dining room looked really nice. The food was good. I had the teriyaki chicken and my wife had blueberry pancakes. The staff was very friendly and attentive.
Delicious home made food and great service. Very friendly staff and generous portions at a good value. Callister poutine sauce was very tasty. Cheesecake and pumpkin pie are homemade. Will be back for sure. Thank you for the delicious dinner, compliments to your chef!
Breakfast all day! Food is cooked to perfection! Whatever you order seems to just arrive as it should! Homemade desserts that are among the best we've ever had. Great Hometown charm and definitely a treasure in this community! ATV and motorcycle friendly. Dairy Bar attached lots of free parking, servers are great, high-energy dedicated kind and attentive! My wife and I enjoy this location and frequent it as much as possible. We definitely recommend!
If homemade and lots of variety is what you crave, this is a great restaurant. Lots of diversity on the menu and includes several keto options. Wait time is average for food but worth the wait. They have a little gift area to browse that Includes beautiful handmade jewelry. The desserts are homemade and lots to choose from. The pies look to be quite a substantial size. I had the keto blueberry cheesecake to go on this visit. The size is smaller than in years past but the taste was wonderful. I ordered the wonton nachos this visit. This creative pairing was fantastic! Sweet, spicy, crunchy. It's on the starter menu but I couldn't finish it as a main dish. The deep fried wontons are covered with red, green and banana peppers and drizzled with sweet chili sauce. I had chicken added. The cost of the main was just shy of $18.00 without tax. Like many places, the menu prices are higher than in the past and it was close to $30 for one person not including tip and tax meal, drink, desert. The music was a bit loud the day we visited but overall the service was good. It's a comfortable country like decor with back window views that are beautiful. I will go again. Dietary restrictions: They offer several keto menu options
We were in July 5th, between 4:15 PM and 5:30 PM. All 3 of us at the table ordered split pea soup and one plate to share of the breakfast defried hash browns. The Hash Browns were delicious, they were absolutely juicy and tender and hot they were perfect. The split pea soup on the other hand This was a huge huge disappointment. The split pea soup was like watered sludge with the flavoring of too many colves and carrots. Maybe this is a different version but this definitely was not split pea soup it was so water down it was awful. Far too many carrots, cloves, and celery But we all ate it. I'm pretty sure we'll won't be ordering that again that's for sure. I guess I used to the versions of a split pea soup ,that ate actually thick and creamy. The young server we had was great .
Want some good home cooked meals??? This is the place to go!! Best eggs Benedict ever! Big menu, full of deliciousness and the service is great. One of those places that makes it feel like home. Fresh bread, homemade desserts, well... homemade everything!!!Food: 5/5
March break is over and all 3 kids are in school! We survived! Big Daddy T and I went on a celebratory breakfast date before his work day began. We decided to go to Callister's Country Kitchen. There is nothing pretentious about this restaurant. They sell country style home decor in the front. Country music plays in the background. In fact, I kept telling Tim that I felt like I was in Missouri. The huge windows with lovely views of the countryside especially reminded me of my youth in the Midwest. The only thing missing on the menu, was biscuits and gravy! That is quintessential Missouri! I digress, Callister's did have other classic old Skool dishes like liver and onions, hot hamburger sandwiches, burgers of course, but also I saw Asian, Italian and Mexican influenced dishes. I'll definitely have to come back for dinner sometime... With the kids. The menu has lots of regional dishes as well. For instance, I chose the fisherman's breakfast! The coffee was hot and fresh! When the breakfast arrived, the waitress proudly explained that the bread, the hash browns, the fishcake and the beans are all homemade! It even came with a side of chow! It was all delicious! The fishcake had big chunks of fish. The potatoes were crispy. The bread was fresh, toasted and buttered. I must admit, I was ready for a greasy spoon. I thought it would be fried frozen hash browns, toasted Wonder bread, etc. Don't get me wrong, There's a time and place for a good greasy spoon. ; However, that's not what Callister's is. No, Callister's feels like going to grandma's house. What are you in the mood for? Grandma will make it for you... from scratch. My grandmas have been gone for a long time. After a week of taking care of children, home for March break, it was nice to be fed a home cooked meal... cooked by someone else! Lol As we walked out the door, I drooled over the homemade desserts! Homemade cheesecake?! What is that ridiculously tall pie?! I'll definitely be back.
Have been going here for breakfast and lunches for about a year now. Service can be a little slow, but that seems mostly due to staffing issues, good workers hard to find these days, they are almost always packed which impacts service time. Food has been consistently good, decent portion sizes and fair pricing as well. My favorite breakfast spot since moving to nova Scotia.
Solid diner vibes. Staff are friendly, the food always tasty and the price is reasonable.Food: 5/5
Stopped here about 4:15pm today August 27. The air conditioning in here again is so COLD...we left without eating or ordering. Will not return anymore while ac might be running Returned here in November there was only 1 person working on floor and the poor woman was bussing, waiting tables, working cash. She was awesome. This restaurant and it's scheduling/hiring of employees seems to be suffering as with many eateries as of late. we did have our meal here albeit took a long time to be waited on and served, the meals were excellent! Returned here the first week in December, waited to be seated for 5 minutes and were NOT even acknowledged. We went to cash counter and told the TWO people who were there tending to their mobile phones social media, that we were going to a booth to seat ourselves, one of the women said that was fine and she would let the waitress know. After sitting in the booth for 10 minutes without still being acknowledged, we left the establishment and went elsewhere to eat our meals. Mind you, it wasn't even very busy during this time! Using mobile phones in the presence of customers who are there to patronize the business is totally UNEXCEPTABLE. We love the food served here but the service definitely has left a bad taste in our mouths. We have always tipped our servers very well but, it seems this might have been our last visit here for good.
