Honestly. Being a young single parent looking to buy a stable home for me and my kids, you'd think a mobile park would be a pretty good starter home idea. Hearing 1100 for lot rent is Ludacris. Greed is what drives the prices up and I'm sure the site owners don't care at all gouging people. Simply sad. I would not recommend this site at all. After reading reviews, seeing people forced out of homes, closed amenities and more, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.
I would love to give this place a - as there is nothing positive to living in this place. My son and daughter moved into their first place together in trailer park. Within couple months things went downhill. Water pipes freeze in bathroom at slightest cold temperatures this has happened numerous times. To date they have had no hot water for 2 weeks already. After emailing numerous times. Someone finally came and looked at it and left without saying anything. Then came back yesterday and said he will bring a heater tomorrow because it's currently at another house. Wow!! Only 1 heater available. Buy another!! Another issue is there is a hole in there floor. Foot went through when walking down the hall, you can several layers of flooring.nI do not recommend anyone to live here. They are cheap. Nobody works there or knows anything. Stay away!! Take people's money and not do anything. I will not stop until I get an answer or file a complaint. SCUMLORDS!!!
Among the other problems.nCan we do something about all the stray cats and people that have unfixed that are peeing on and destroying everyone’s property please! My skirting keeps needing repairs from Cats, its not even all the skunks, its the cats.
Deplorable living conditions. They don’t care about minimum housing standards. The price tenants have to pay is the highest lot fees in Canada. They take huge advantage of people on fixed incomes. Trapping them there by making the homes worthless until they have to move OR evicting them when they can’t keep up, and then tossing some new siding on or getting a liquidated unit to replace it and repeating the cycle. Hiding behind loopholes and a new manager at least once a month. They built a big nice club house with the rent increase. Supposed to be a community Center but we are almost always locked out unless we want to pay a monthly fee for a key. The units are all from at least the 70s. All the abandoned units from the old Blackfoot trailer park were recently brought there. Given pressboard walls and new siding and labeled as “ new and renovated “nNo screens in windows that are old and damaged and don’t lock. Inch gaps through doors. No railings on steps made of saturated plywood. Rotting joists. Windows that don’t have screens or lock. There’s always someone working on the “new” units but never anyone to help you with mice, mould, structural issues if your unit is occupied. It was horrible there.
We have lived in this community for about 10 years now, we actually really love the home that we purchased and enjoy our neighbors and the quiet area. We are always on time with our lot rent and really try to take care of and maintain the area where we rent.nnThrough the years we have seen the management change over continuously. I am aware of the bad reviews, however I knew that in purchasing my home here that the reality is that due to the mobile home legislation, corporations that own the parks will always try to maximize profits out the parks as the opportunity is there, whether or not it’s honourable doesn’t matter as corporations only care about doing business. That being said this community has worked out okay for us, we have not been priced out yet.nnThe disappointing part is lack of customer service and professionalism, human interaction is paramount, no one wants to feel uncomfortable where they live.nnToday something happened that has never happened in my years of living here. Two ladies wearing Calgary village jackets came and knocked on my door, when I opened it, one of them stated pointing her finger at me, “Are you my name?”, which I did confirm it was me, she then proceeded to remark that “a neighbor had told her that I had sold my home”. Neither of them introduced themselves or provided their name. This was the strangest encounter I’ve ever had living here. It made me feel uncomfortable, and I’m not entirely sure what their intentions were , they could have easily noted that our lot rent is still being paid on time and by us. I can’t think of anything that we may have done wrong.nnIt is a shame that the overall culture of mobile home parks, leads to the tenants having less rights to being treated without professionalism, because its free, it doesn’t cost anything to show respect in simple human interaction, and it makes all the difference.
