This library is one of the most beautiful libraries in Canada. The wooden architecture makes the atmosphere very natural, soothing, and calm. A perfect place to study and to read. The amenities inside are also amazing with a whole floor for kids to learn, read, and play. There's also a coffee shop and multiple quiet study rooms for group work and much more. Definitely a highlight and go-to when visiting the city of Calgary.
One of the most beautiful architectural library I have ever seen. It’s so spacious, bright and tons of collection of books for every genre. The library is beautifully maintained and staff are very polite and helpful. It has so many sitting areas on all levels. They also offer children’s play area. The layout is absolutely mesmerizing with those wooden structure.
Very huge and well maintained place. Books from multiple languages; Floor for kid to read, play. Coffee shop. Private reading, browsing, printing, meeting rooms almost everything is there. Humongous chess board is there with which you can stand and play. Logo section for kid was amazing. Even they have this historical things like sculpture of birds animals with their detailed info. Overall nice place to be.
What a beautiful library. The design and architecture is immaculate. There is so much to see as a tourist, and I thought it was super neat to look around in. Coolest library I have ever visited. I loved the book shelving with the lights as well. Super modern with a classic look. Definitely recommend checking out, even if you are not a local.
Wow, wow and wow! This library is beautiful, we were only visiting Calgary for a few days and checked out every floor - certainly a potential third place if I ever lived in Calgary! I wish there was a souvenir store - I would love a tote bag from here!
Architecturally stunning. Beautiful space , open, inviting, well spaced and set up to keep people engaged. There is a Cafe, play area, an array of seating options , areas to work, study, relax and .most impotantly read!. I could spend many days here. Tours are available and hope to go on one at my next visit. A must when in Calgary.
Visited for the first time two years ago. I still think about the utter beauty of its infrastructure and design. Living in Edmonton, it’s hard to compare our local big library to this beauty of a library. Can I say “beauty” one more time? It bears repeating. Friendly people. Even have a small café, which served delicious coffee beverages.
I was amazed!!! The architecture, the technology. They have 5 levels, for everyone, from toddlers to senior’s. Books, video games. If you are in Calgary it’s a must visit. One of the best libraries I have ever been.
Revisiting the Central Library today made my day. It's been a few years since I have not been back to one of the iconic buildings in Calgary, but I still felt some goosebumps upon entering their big entrance door - just from that perspective you will be able to see the modern and beautiful interior design of this modern and award-winning library. The interior design consists of modern-day staircase and 4 floors of massive space - not just filled up with books, but also with a children’s playground and a mixture of meeting rooms of varying sizes and designs. Spending the whole day at the library was an eventful experience. First stop: at the 4th floor where I was able to sit in one of the relaxing lounges, where I also had a very nice view of the city towards the Bow building aside from the nice view, the lounge also had built-in power bars for your electronic devices. At the 4th floor there is also a very excellent room where you can read books and even operate your laptop - complete with table lights and individual tables which can accommodate up to 8 patrons each. LOCALS’ Tip: At the top floor, in the Northwest corner, there are several tables and lounges, complete with power outlets, where you can use your laptop/phone and at the same time, have a very excellent view of the City Hall train stations, the Bow building and part of Calgary downtown. A few metres away from the library, there is a Tim Horton’s outlet along Olympic Way SE
My favourite place to study, and excel my passion of reading. The library is very modern, and I cherish the large wooden atrium. The interfaith room is great for quiet reading, and relaxation. It’s conveniently located by the C-Train so there’s easy access. Love the study hall on the 4th floor.
