This place is so scammy and dishonest. They really need to be investigated. I don’t normally write reviews, and If I do, they are positive. I needed to write this one so that other people are warned of the dishonesty here and hopefully avoid this place. Not only did they try to charge me an 82% compound interest rate r you kidding me!, but when I obviously refused there ridiculous financing, they wouldn’t return my refundable deposit ,which they require just to get started, before you even pick out a car. Do not give them your money. 1. they told me the bank didn’t disclose the interest rate to them so they couldn’t tell me what it was: they could only tell me the monthly charge. that isn’t true. 2. they tried to charge me $24000 over 5 years $185 biweekly for a $5500 car: that is an 82% compound interest rate.! they claimed this is what the bank offered me. I am an intelligent person and I know That is not the interest rate that came from any bank. Whatever was going on there seems very dishonest. 3. When I asked for my deposit back First they made excuses why they couldn’t refund the credit card, and it had to be a mailed check . I paid by credit card so they could have just refunded my card. A legitimate business will return a credit card deposit by simply refunding the credit card. I run a business, I know that if you can accept a cc payment you can very easily refund it back to the card. Strange policies about having to mail a check does not sound legitimate. I was told the policy is to mail a check , it was during a postal strike. so I offered to pick up the check or simply have them refund the card, which makes the most sense. they gave me multiple excuses that it had to be a check, but a check couldn’t be written the right people aren’t there to sign it etc. it was one excuse after another day after day it was a different one. I shouldn’t have to fight for my refundable deposit back. After period of giving me the run around and every excuse in the book, they ignored me after that, and I never got my money back. I am not the only one. I had come across a number of complaints online where people have said their deposit wasn’t returned and that they got a run around. There were other very concerning things I found as well. it wasn’t hard to find reviews, complaints, etc. with the exact same scenario of giving people all kinds of ridiculous excuses why the cant return the deposit. For your own sake stay away from this place. if I could give negative stars I would.
Dont get confused of Calgary Auto Emporium/Royal Auto Sales the same Owner. Beware this people will sell you a broken car, over charges and will give you excuses and excuses a total waste of time. They sold me a Saab 2011 with a engine light is on with a broken trunk. 2 months of driving it they still was not able to fix the problem. I also notice that there charging so much fees and most of the numbers in the bill of sales don't add up over charge. They replace my car with a Hyundai and again a missing bolt in the brake caliber. They don't care if the car is properly check as long they make the money and make sure get a copy of the mechanical assessment. Read the warranty waste of money, don't let Frank explain to you in a very fast manner so you could sign the contract right away. They charge so much from the warranty of 2500 with 1star from global warranty that most mechanic wont deal with them. They refused to give me a refund of my down payment from the Saab which is broken when they sold me and the warranty I paid. Never again!!!! Also my friend car that she purchased from them is also the front is broken and one of the tire is winter. They will take advantage of people like me that don't know anything about buying cars from a dealer. Now I will have Amvic deal with them.
To all the people who wanted to finance a used vehicle, don't go to calgary auto emporium. They will only entertain you at first, soon as you already got the vehicle and find some problems, they are going to ignore you. Last time I purchased a truck, they told me they are going to replace the broken grill, give me a spare tire, fix the transmission issue that is apparently appearing on my dash, and my rear seat and seat belts - none of them were done. I kept on calling and coming back but only wasted my time. I hope the better business bureau would consider making some inspection and investigation. And oh, they dont have their own shop to fix and clean vehicles, they only ask a shop block behind their store to do their cars. That only means that they are not taking the business seriuosly.
"VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and DISHONEST" I'm from Red Deer and was trying to find as much out as I could before I made the drive to Calgary. On Friday I had talked with Ivy about a truck they had there. The price seemed to good to be true, which should have been my warning, but I was told they were only selling at that price because they purchased it for very cheap Ivy assured me. Other than a dent in the fender and bumper which they advised they would be repairing the truck is "Very Clean" in and out I was told. The following Monday I spoke with Mo about the truck and asked for some other pics of the exterior and interior as they only had a front and passenger side pic online. Always be wary of only one side of vehicle showing in an ad! Anyways Mo sends some pics of interior and an off angle back to front pic of the drivers side with the front fender not visible with shadows, snow etc. I let him know I was planning on coming down on wed to look at it. Mo advised me again they would be fixing these "minor things" asap and would be all gd. He then asked me for a deposit to show I'm serious. I obviously refused that as I hadn't even seen the truck yet. Mo said that was fine he'll get the truck taken in but not to worry the truck is very clean with only a minor dent. Tuesday I get a call from Camille asking again for a deposit for a truck I hadn't even seen yet. I refused again and told her I was coming the following day to view. Wednesday I drive to Calgary get to the auto Emporium and couldn't believe the condition of the truck. The drivers front fender was a twisted mess completely smashed, the bumper was smashed worse thsn the pics show and the hood has been twisted out of alignment. Add smashed signal and marker lights and this trucks not even insurable!!! Not sure how there was never an accident claim on it I got my own car proof done but easily $3000 + to fix it all. Very upset that I was mislead and wasted my time coming down there. BE WARY of going through these liars and scammers!!!
So the car I was sold passed their in house inspection... But I took it elsewhere and there was a lot wrong the car like... A broken windshield, cupped tires. Also the car hadn't been properly cleaned. The guaranteed finance meant paying 30% interest rate on a $7000 10 year old car. I'm honestly surprised they're still in business.
DON’T BUY A VEHICLE FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!! This company is a scam. They are very dishonest and don’t value their customers. I bought a vehicle and after a few months I had major issues with it. Come to find out that it had $11,000 in pervious damages that were not disclosed to me, and when I brought it to their attention they said they would work with me to get another vehicle, but all they wanted was more money down, which I refused to do as they were the ones that were dishonest. I just wonder how many people had the same problem with them. I am seriously considering going to the media about it so that other people don’t have the same problem. I think we should all band together and show companies like this that they have no right to take advantage of people and put them in unsafe vehicles like mine.
This is a review of Calgary Auto Emporium also YYC Auto Credit. I have never seen such a disorganized messy company. there ad at first thought it looked good to buy a vehicle from them but from the very first contact I noticed how unprofessional and rude those guys are. Going into there office for my appointment was a nightmare disaster. messy, unorganized filth, it was almost like they are hoarders. The owner I dealt with, Ken Woo. He is extremely rude, unprofessional and unkempt. He looked strung out high as if he hadn't showered in weeks because his strong body odor smelled of stale alcohol and dirt. His deep snorting seemed as though he overdoes meth or some drugs that would explain his extremely high strung attitude. When I left there so-called office, I did some internet searching I found that Calgary Auto Emporium is the same owners as Barlow Motors on Faithfull Ave in Saskatoon. they have recently been all over the news for being a unlicensed company selling failed inspection vehicles fake warranties to unsuspecting customers. The owners should be reported and shut down permanently for ripping innocent people off. never would I recommend any of these stores or owners to any one who has a brain.
After having gone to Rush Autos with my bad credit and being told my only option for financing was a 2007 Ford Focus Wagon in puke green, and that's ONLY if I put $1000 down up front, I went to Calgary Auto Emporium, spoke with Ivy, and was able to finance a 2013 Ford Fiesta with $500 down. Ivy and the entire staff was amazing and I am so happy with my car . This was my first time ever financing a car and Ivy made it an easy, comfortable experience. I would 100% recommend Calgary Auto Emporium to anybody looking to finance a car, bad credit or not.
BUYERS BEWARE If I could give them -5 stars I would. If you're going to buy a car from these people TAKE IT TO YOUR OWN MECHANIC. THEY WILL KNOWINGLY SELL YOU MOLDY CARS. I am young lady and I feel as though this business really took advantage of my ignorance about cars. Before closing a dealthank goodness , I took a FORD TAURUS I was wanting to purchase to my own mechanic, HE FOUND A HOLE IN THE TRUNK and upon lifting the fabric in the trunk he found large amounts of BLACK MOLD making the car itself a health hazard. I understand they may have not even realized this before hand, and I let them know about the obvious health hazard. They have since then REPOSTED THE SAME FORD TAURUS ADVERTISING AS ***SUPER CLEAN*** please be aware that this dealer's idea of SUPER CLEAN may in fact be synonymous with SUPER MOLDY. Also the people working at this lot are extremely unprofessional. An employee repeatedly accused Me of being a racist when I didn't want to buy the car because of obvious reasons .
I've been to 15 dealerships and this place by far is the worst! The place is small and very dirty, staff are not professional at all.The manager literally told me to shut up when i asked for my deposit back. Be aware before buying any car.
