Great place for family and kids. A beautiful summer day get-away from Calgary. Going on a public holiday or long weekend wouldn’t be recommended at all as it’s tightly packed and takes a good while just waiting in queue’s itself. There is a handful and more of games and activities there. A lot of them need extra pay than the entry fee to the park. There are also height restrictions on some rides for smaller kids. Bumper cars are available for both small kids and adults separately. Kids under 10 have a great deal to enjoy, although I should mention that the number of adult rides and actual adventure rides were very few. What surprised me most was that it was although a water theme park, there was no swimming pool. There was a mini spray park for kids but that was about it. Parking is available and safety measures seemed to be on point from what I saw. Was a happy and fun day experience and would visit and recommend again! Worth visiting for families with small kids.
My family and I took my three year old son for his first time. I haven't been to Calaway Park since I was a teenager and I always loved it as a kid so I was very exited to go again. My family and I had an amazing time. We were very pleasantly surprised at how many rides my son was able to go on both with us or by himself. Everything was clean, the ride attendants were awesome. We weren't sure how my toddler would enjoy the rides but he had a blast on everything and so did we. An amazing day filled with happy memories I won't forget. We will be back again soon, and regularly every year too.
We have 2 young children 4 & 7 and we had such a great time. The rides are great for younger kids. My 4 year old could go on almost all the rides, and it's really nice to be able to go on with the kids on the smaller ones. The lines were short and the treats scattered around the park you could purchase were tasty. We will definitely get a seasons pass next year.
Fun place for families. It’s usually very busy, but the staff are well-trained and friendly. And there’s something for everyone to enjoy. I’ve been going to Calaway since I was a kid 20+ years. And some things have changed but not much - in a good way. Yes some of the decor and fixtures need renovating but it also gives it a nostalgic feeling. There are food vendors everywhere and not extremely over priced. Some of them can be slow because they get busy but you can walk around the park to find another vendor with the same items. There are shows, a splash park amazing for when it’s super hot out, games, rides of course, and lots of shaded areas to take a break/eat. I’d say a majority of the rides are geared towards 4-12 year old kids. I’d recommend getting early bird season’s passes if you plan on visiting multiple times. Otherwise get discounted day passes on their website $39 or at co-op stores $37. Bring a wagon, lots of water/drinks, snacks, cash for games, sunscreen, hats, and an umbrella. Most importantly be patient as you may have to wait in lots of lines, but also be kind to the kids working.
Brilliant park with a variety of rides for all ages! Even my 2 year old had so many options to ride on! Also have to mention the absolutely fabulous staff! A perfect full day of fun!
Long lineups but well worth the visit. Love the roller coaster and the dizzy dragons you can spin as fast as you can. This time of year they set up Halloween props around the park. Overall great time spent with the kids.
Great park, a bit dated, but still fun. So much sugary or deep fried food, there's no much healthy food option, I'm exhausted, but happy to hear kids said they had the best day in their life , rental stroller definitely saved our day.
Had a good time with my family. It seemed a little too small for the crowd size, and the rides themselves were all a little little. For my 8 year old, it was perfect. For my teenagers, they outgrew it.
Calaway Park was so much fun! I was worried there would be too many toddler-kid rides but that was not the case. There were some Adult rides the further you go into the park. Worth it to wait in the rollercoaster line first and have the log ride be your last ride. Those are the two main big lines in the park. The Chaos was down for maintenance when we went but that didn't stop our good experience. We went on a very lucky day where the wait was non existence - a 3 ride wait. .
So much fun. Staff were very patient with our 2 individuals with disabilities. Was there open to close and was able to get on lots of rides as although busy the lines were not bad and moved fast.
