FOR THOSE SOON TO BE MARRIED...we are one of the few local cake companies specializing in design and production of faux wedding cakes. A bride can design her dream wedding cake, we can make it from nearly all edible materials over a foam core, with one section of the cake made completely real for the bride and groom to share their special "first slice." Then the catering staff can serve sheet cakes provided by the Cake Boutique bakers in a variety of the region's best flavors, and nobody ever needs to know!

My experience with the Cake Boutique was wonderful. I planned my wedding from hundreds of miles away and they were a breeze to work with via phone and email. When we were in town, they made time so we could sit down to discuss and do a tasting. They made suggestions that fit our reception size rather than simply adding dollars onto the bill. They took time with us to make suggestions and to try different combinations of things. I called a week prior to ensure all was going to go as planned, that we were on the same page and come the day of the wedding my cake was sitting there gorgeous as could be. We are beyond amazed at the simplicity it was to work with this company and how much they went over and above, even for a smaller cake like ours, to make sure everything was perfect.

We set up an appointment to talk about wedding cakes. When I said we wanted to do a small cake for my husband and I, on the phone, staff told us that was fine. But when we got there we were told we had to order sheet cakes through them for the rest of our guests. $300-$400 for sheet cakes for our 225 guest wedding. We already have our sheet cakes ordered through a different bakery and told the staff here that we just wanted a small cake. That was fine when we were setting up our appointment, but after driving 35 minutes we we're told they wouldn't make a cake for us.

My stepdaughter mom ordered a cake from here for her birthday. When she brought it was decorated nicely, we actually joked about not wanting to eat it cause it looked so nice. Well we shouldn't have. It was the most terrible cake I have ever eaten. That's including Wal-Mart or giant eagle. It was dense like a fruit cake and the tasted stale and dry. I was so disappointed. I am a baker and was going to make the cake, but ended up not have the time. I really should have made the time. Never ever will I get or eat a cake from there.

While my faux cake was beautiful the sheet cake for my wedding looked very much thrown together.  Icing wasn't applied smoothly at all.  I ordered a full sheet as I needed enough to feed 100 guests.  The cater was so worried that we didn't have enough they asked people if they wanted cake instead of serving it to everyone. What they don't tell you is that their full sheet cake size is really a two tier half sheet.  

I was never given a box for returning the faux cake to them.  Which if you do not return you will be charged for, even though you paid for the faux cake in the first place. 

When I called and asked how they expected me to transport the faux cake back without them providing a container they told me to put a garbage bag over it.  

For how expensive it was you'd expect more clarity and class from the employees.
