Welcoming environment, good customer service and lots of bake goods to choose from, cafe Gatti offers a good variety of sandwiches, salads and pizza, as well as coffee and tea, We had a fragrant, citrusy cardamom Chia tea, a well balanced regular coffee, crumbly pistachio biscotti, a juicy burger accompanied with crunchy fries. We are definitely coming back! Parking: The street parking beside the cafe is very limited, there's a good size paid parking lot across from the cafe, it's free during the weekend though.
This was my 1st time here, and it's possible that it was simply one of those unfortunate days, but I was disappointed overall. The regular coffee and croissant deal for $6+ tax for a medium mild or dark roast coffee and choice of either plain, chocolate, or almond croissant was somewhat acceptable given current pricings. Mine was the dark roast and not the quality I was expecting from a coffee-focused business. My friend and I were informed that the coffee would be brought to our table, as the mild coffee had to be brewed. We were halfway through our croissants and still no coffee. Now numerous people were coming in, so my friend went to the counter, and she was asked to wait while they finished with the person that just came in. Instead of offering all options such as milk/cream types or milk alternatives if any, I asked for my preferences, which weren't available, and the woman hesitated in confirming if they had 1% milk. Although the ambiance was cozy and clean, the service was chaotic. The one washroom didn't have complete instruction printed instruction broken off on how to lock the door, and I'm pretty mechanically inclined, but I could not figure it out. It felt like they had just started the business, and new employees getting used to products, etcetera.
Very nice, traditional and yummy! I stopped in Cafe Gatti for a quick lunch break and I was very happy. The place is clean, styled nicely and the food is scrumptious! I had a slice of mushroom pizza, with a hot chocolate that was served in a beautiful presentation and topped with whipped cream. The hot chocolate was cozy, warm and melty- everything a cup of cocoa should be. The pizza was delicious! The crust was my favourite part. It's crispy, light and has a perfect amount of topping on it, each bite was enjoyed. The prices are reasonable, a bit expensive but overall not too bad for the quality of the food. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because I did find the seating / table set up a bit awkward. I was sitting at a table, and because the chairs are so close, I couldn't pull my chair out without addressing the lady behind me at her table, otherwise I would have hit her! Very nice place for a treat, I look forward to trying their desserts!!
Absolutely my favourite cafe... so happy to see them still at the top of their game great food, coffee and sweets... COVID has been tough on these small businesses. Wish we still lived close by, but always visit when we're in town. A fan for a few months shy of a decade now.
The place is nice and the food and pastries were good. But the ladies at the counter taking the order were not providing a great service. They seemed like angry and boredFood: 4/5
The best pastries I have ever had. Hazelnut torte cake is decadent and the swans vanilla & chocolate are my favourites. Authentic cappuccinos too! Quality ingredients and hand crafted desserts.
Typically, a chicken parm, or veal parm, is a staple go-to dinner for me. Naturally, its one of my favourite sandwiches as well. The Veal Parm Sandwich from Cafe Gatti was out of this world! Fresh flavours of pesto and tomato on fresh ciabatta just hits differently. By far one of the best Veal Parm's I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend it ! The coffee is also very delicious. Definitely my new spot for a, "Damn good coffee." The service was fast and the staff are also very friendly! Bon Appetit!!
