Great Concept, But…nnCafé Paris in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan has an appealing concept on the surface. The name and branding suggest a charming French café experience, which initially caught my attention and made me curious to try it. Unfortunately, the reality didn’t quite live up to the expectation.nnDespite the French branding, the restaurant does not actually feel French in its execution. It appears to be operated by Indian staff, and the overall menu and presentation do not reflect an authentic French café experience. This creates a bit of a disconnect between the name, the concept being marketed, and the dining experience customers actually receive.nnThe food quality was also disappointing. I ordered the beef dip, expecting freshly roasted and carved beef, which is typically what you’d expect from a café positioning itself as higher-end or European-style. Instead, the sandwich appeared to use processed roast beef, which significantly lowered the quality of the dish. The flavour and texture were noticeably inferior to freshly roasted meat.nnAnother small but telling detail was the café latte, which was served in a disposable paper cup rather than proper ceramic café ware. For a place presenting itself as a café experience, this felt out of place and detracted from the overall atmosphere.nnService was functional but nothing special. Staff were polite enough and the order was handled efficiently, but there was nothing memorable about the service that elevated the experience.nnOverall, Café Paris has a great concept and branding idea, but the execution falls short. With better food quality, more authentic presentation, and attention to the café experience, it could become something much better. I do have photos that support these observations, particularly regarding the food and presentation.
Nice place to eat when you plan to stop while on way to Val Marie from the east. I seriously had no expectations but I was pleasantly surprised. The coffee was good. The sandwich was fresh, warm and filling and the salad was also really good. For such a small town the place really surprised me. The staff is also very friendly and courteous. Good place to visit with family. Price was a little high though. Just for coffee and sandwich I paid 26 dollars. With an added tip ended up paying $30 which I felt was pricy for such a small town. But I would recommend going there for sure. Nice healthy, clean and warm meal. And they have a lot of options.
Lovely spot to drop off highway and grab food. Owner was very welcoming. Food great and plenty of choice. Great coffee. We sat with the dog in the rear garden.
From the moment I stepped foot in Cafe de Paris I knew it was going to be the dining experience that I craved. And it was love at first bite. The Cafe is easy to access from street side parking and a very spacious dining area plus a gorgeous back patio reverberates the buzz of a busy and happy establishment. The menu is extensive, the prices reasonable, the portions large, the quality of food exceptional and the wait staff are professional and very friendly. I had ordered a pear and walnut salad, no pears were available so I asked if they could just use strawberries instead. They did, which was very accommodating. The salad was bright and fresh with greens, avocado, red onion and gorgonzola. My friend had the Greek salad and said it was exceptional. We both had Paninis and again, so tasty and lots to eat. Don’t forget to indulge in the specialty coffees and desserts too. This is probably one of my favourite restaurants in Saskatchewan, so do yourself a favour and give it a go.
The decor is Awesome! The atmosphere is calm peaceful& warm. Great service Delicious food.I cant wait to go back.I would highly recommend this eating establishment.
