Ordered carryout today. Excuse the presentation. That was my fault because I tilted the bag while carrying it in the house was carrying groceries too. So far, it's the best tasting tacos I've had in the Forest Park/Oak Park area, as I have been on the lookout for good tacos in this area all year. This place is better than Tacobron and Taco '76, the other taco spots I've tried in the area. More affordable and tastier. In my tacos, I'm looking for a good taste in the tortilla and a good taste in the meat. My go to is chicken tacos. Their chicken tacos tasted great. Was able to taste the chicken and it had flavor. The tortillas was a little bland though. Now the service was amazing. The woman was so sweet there. That is such a plus. Will come again. 4/5
Came here because someone mentioned the food was tex-mex & I was craving ranchera chicken enchiladas. The enchiladas were very good w shredded dark & white meat. I also liked the rice. The guacamole was chunky & good. I thought the beans & Barbacoa were too salty for my taste. Great service & very clean interior.
Jalapeno salsa with chips a nice change from tamatillo. Delicious soup comes with the meal. Steak was a nice cut and cooked perfect but very salty. The chile relleno was flavorful and cheesy. Rice and beans average in taste. Very friendly service and clean casual dining area. Overall, we enjoyed our meal.
The price wasn’t bad, the amount of food was good, but the food needed more taste. Not a bad little spot. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.
This was our first time having Cactus Grill but definitely won’t be the last! We tried a variety of things, including carne asada burrito and tacos, a pastor taco, a barbacoa taco and chicken enchiladas verde. Each of the meats were tender and flavorful! The accompany salsas were also some of the best I’ve had. Already looking forward to my next meal from Cactus Grill.
Cactus Grill is my favorite Mexican Restaurant, and carryout. I recommend them to all my friends for there delicious food, excellent service, and very reasonable prices. A Taco for $2,95 that include your choice of meat, filled with cilantro, onions, shredded lettuce, and tomato I highly recommend Cactus Grill to everyone
Best casual Mexican food in forest park / oak park / river forest. We love the steak tacos - very greasy in a good way and flavorful, lots of meat. The quesadillas are amazing too - loaded with cheese and delicious. The chips are fresh and perfectly salted. Service is always kind and timely.
Update 5/29/22, few weeks ago, called was on hold minutes ,had to hang up. Today almost same on hold for 10 sec. & they disconnected. NP good, I found a better go-to, 3 mins south near Circle ave, much more flavor
-I've moved away, so it's been some time since I'd eaten here... Just ate here and the food and ambience are just as great as I remember. Time up!!!- I have eaten here several times and the food has been fantastic each time. My new go-to for Mexican food!!! Order anything with the steak... although even the ground beef is super good, and I usually avoid ground beef! Make sure you try the salsas they give you free with your order when you eat in. The burrito Suiza is my favorite. Also they have this cheesy queso fundido chorizo appetizer that is outta this world!!!
Fantastic food, great people, fair price. What else can be said? Favorite dish: carne asada chimichanga.
