Cabotto's is as delicious as the first time we've tried it out. Pasta's are amazing and got a great suggestion from our waiter for the veal tonight.....SOOOO YUM!!! Oh and the service is top notch also. If you're in the West end of Ottawa, you gotta give it a try. Enjoy!!
Came in here for my parents 32nd wedding anniversary. The service was exceptional, the atmosphere was beautiful - lots of history within the building. We sat in the front room to the right I will say, ask for a different room. Both doors to this room lead to the entrance and the patio entrance, it was distracting, and cold. The food was delicious, the wine was affordable + I love finishing my meal with a coffee. Good coffee! I gave 4 stars as opposed to 5 because we had looked at the online menu prior to arriving and their Pescetore was labeled “linguine pescetore” but when we ordered it was spaghetti. We missed the menus in house are listed as just pescetore. Which wouldn’t be a problem but I find spaghetti is rarely el Dante and overcooked, which it was. I will visit again, very yummy food!!
This is definitely a class restaurant with the food quality to match. The main meals for the 4 of us was impeccable, tasty, well presented and ohhhh so good. All were good portions allbeit pricey. But I suppose if you are looking for a meal that will stand out and be memorable, then it will cast more. I had the steak stuffed with cheese and procuto, I could not finish it, I had to share, it was great. The service was friendly and never lacking. I only have a small complaint, the Italian chocolate cakeI don't remember the name was not outstanding, it could have been better.
I had a technical issue with my reservation for Valentine's day with another restaurant and had found myself scrambling to find a table for my partner and I the night before V-day. I couldn't find anything, anywhere -- every place was fully booked! So I sent an email to Cabotto's and requested that if they have any cancellations to please book me in. Luckily they got back to me immediately and I got a reservation. I had heard only good things prior to dining at Cabotto's and wow was it true! We had an amazing four-course dinner with great service and a very romantic atmosphere. It was a special Valentine's day menu which included various options, of which we tried: Butternut Squash Cream Soup - 11/10 probably the best soup I've ever had Escargot - 9.5/10 Scallop-stuffed salmon + roasted potatoes & veggies - 10/10 Seafood fettuccini - 9.5/10 Crème Brûlée - 10/10 They also served us balsamic glazed focacia bread with olives to start the night — 9/10. We had a glass of Pinot that complimented the food perfectly and were also served tea with our dessert. All that being said, I definitely recommend Cabotto’s and even if Kanata is too far for you, trust me that it’s worth the drive! 5 Stars.
Food was sooo good! Wish my water was topped up more often but other than that, highly recommend!
Great food - delicious and well presented. Excellent service in spite of being very busy. Wine list is not huge but they cover all the bases and price points. Main course prices ranged from low 20s to low 30s which we felt was great value considering the quality and the economy. We'll be back! Parking: Lots of parking.
My first time visiting this restaurant. Expectations were high as I heard this was a Fine Dining restaurant. Fine Dining means Quality Service and Quality Food in a nice restaurant for a premium price. This restaurant fell a little short of my high expectations. Service was just o.k., Service lacked personality, lacked conversation about the menu and any excitement about being there. The restaurant is an old house, it is nice, albeit they keep the lights very low and dark. Food is above average Italian. As I have traveled to Italy almost a dozen times, this is more American Italian. It is good, but I would have like to see more authentic Italian. I would improve Service, refresh the dining area to more authentic Italian, and tweak some things in the kitchen.
Food quality was good. Service had lots of room for improvement. Staff was not engaged, and we were made to feel like our business was not appreciated...service was quite slow, had to ask for items and drink refreshes multiple times, cutlery wasn't even brought out for main course...had to ask a food runner for cutlery,...normally you expect a high level of service and professional etiquette when you are going to what calls itself a 'fine dining experience'...would not return purely based on how our party was treated and made to feel
Unreal food and ambience. The dinner was great, everyone loved it. The crème brûlée for dessert was the best I’ve ever had!
We had a wonderful celebration at Cabotto's for our son 50th birthday. The food was excellent and so was the setting. The staff is great. Our server was gracious, polite and anticipated our needs. It was a success and we certainly mean to return and encourage friends to support this establishment There was 8 at our table and everyone was very satisfied. Thanks. Frank & Claudette Kingston, Ontario Vegetarian options: Our daughter-in-law enjoyed her vegetarian dinner. Parking: Lots and very accessible
