A fantastic bookshop with a cultivated selection far superior to your average bookshop fare, plus a really nice selection of new & high quality used records. It's quite easy to spend an hour here browsing. I've always been impressed by their great selection of Canadiana and Fiction. They were also able to track down a very hard to find novella for me just in time for last Christmas when the other stores in Calgary just shrugged me off. The used records are all in VG+ or better condition, no beat up junk, and vacuum cleaned! Definitely the cleanest selection of used vinyl in the city. Not a chain store and it shows!

I was incredibly disappointed when I finally found a time that this store was open. They have a huge selection for such a small space and I was looking forward to getting inside but their hours are very challenging and limited. They also say they buy books but it seems that every time I pass by it the "not buying books today" sign is up. Fair enough, but perhaps it's time to stop offering it all-together then. My other big complaint is that there appears to be a policy of writing the price on the inside of the book on the first page. Not a big deal for your average used book, but there are some very impressive, collectors books available but writing inside of them not only hurts their condition, it also reduces their value. Not sure why anyone would do that. Overall, the prices seem way, way higher than your average used book store as well. Still, if you're not afraid of high prices and you're on the hunt for a special book, you may find it in their wide selection.

Excellent selection. Thoughtfully curated with more than reasonable prices. The owner is exceptionally knowledgeable and helpful.
