We visited this sugar shack on the 2nd of April 2023, it was pretty packed, but the service and food were really good. It was my first time at a sugar shack, the servers were really nice and friendly while they attended every table with groups of 20-25 people, they also went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable. The food was really good, it was a very interesting culturally rich experience, as this is a very Québécois thing to do. The food consisted of fried eggs, baked beans in lard, deep fried salted pork rinds, sausages fried in maple syrup, pea soup my personal favorite, baked ham, fried crepes, sugar pie and most importantly the maple taffy. I’d absolutely recommend everyone to try this place as it was very interesting to learn about the Québécois culture and to try Québécois food while being surrounded by wilderness and wildlife.
It’s a cute little cabane à sucre, the organization to pay when you reserve needs work there’s no structure where to go the exit and entrance doors were jammed for people to go in and out. Women at front desk was super sweet and kind. When it came to eating our “waitress” we asked for coffee it took awhile she never refilled our jug of water, we asked for more sausages she never brought them, she saw we didn’t eat much eggs and she made a comment with a look on her face like she was judging us because it’s a lot of waste…. If we aren’t big egg eaters I don’t see why you should make us feel uncomfortable. We were 8 people 6 adults and 2 kids. There’s a little farm and I mean very small, which was nice for the kids. We took the kids for a horse ride men for the horse carriage were super sweet let the kids ride in the front with him and was making jokes and making them laugh. It had been a while since our group hasn’t gone out altogether so despite the little issues we had an amazing time, food was good, people are nice ! I went there for a company event that was organized WAY in advance... I never got the chance to eat... we were scheduled for 11h and 12h30. At 13h the 11h batch were not even done eating... I left because I was starving and I heard from coworker that the 12h30 batch didn't even eat before 14h30.... sadly they were not prepared enough for what we were promised :

Have been going to Constantin Grégoire for 20+ years - the food has been consistent and delicious over the years. Generous portions, friendly servers, and decent prices. The meal includes: Pickled onions Beets Pickled Homemade fruity ketchup Pea soup Creton Hot dogs in syrup Eggs Ham Fèves au lard Potatoes Oreilles de criss pork rinds - theirs are THE BEST Fried crepes Sugar pie Followed by endless tire outside - none of that one stick per person silliness you get elsewhere. There are also horse carriage rides, a small animal farm, and music and dancing in a separate hall.
Nice place for families and to enjoy ... they have playground for kids...and a small farm ...will return for sure...
The biggest problem I have with this place is their carelessness towards their farm animals. Their sheep had a very big cut on its back that was still fresh and looked infected and didn't even have a bandage. They had two goats outside that were shivering and cuddling trying to keep warm and can clearly tell they were freezing and are not meant to be outside. I won't be supporting a place that tortures animals this way. Very sad to see.
