Butterfly Energy Systems

I purchased a home with a Butterfly Energy Systems Unit on it. The machine was manufactured in January of 2014 and was relatively new when I bought it. The machine comes with a warranty, but only applies to the original owner, so I was ineligible. Therefore the machine could have been installed a month ago and it is no long warrantied. I have placed numerous phone calls to the installer and the company. The installer came several times, and after the fifth time it was determined I needed to replace the outdoor unit at a cost of $1500. I contacted the company, who said it was the responsibility of the installer to price, install, and warranty the new machine. I have tried to inquire with the installer and the company about what the error code and nobody has replied to my phone calls or emails. I have been in contact with the company/installer for 8 weeks now, and still do not have an efficient heat pump. I would be very, very cautious about installing such a product in your residence. Keep in mind how the warranty works, and that the product may malfunction soon thereafter. It would be my recommendation to stay with a reputable company. If BES is willing to reach out and help with my situation, I would consider changing my review, but I have never really had the opportunity to use the machine, and the repair process, obtaining parts, has been very tumultuous.
