Butch's was our most disappointing meal during our visit to Holland. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We visited during covid-19 time and the dining room was socially distanced. The food however was fairly bland and nothing special. For what we paid, we expected more.
Absolutely love the food and the drinks here. The speakeasy bar down below is charming. This is one of my favorite places in Holland.
Food and drink menu are excellent. Steak frites and calamari was particularly great. Would have been 5 stars, but the staff was stretched incredibly thin and was overbooked. The staff was all great and did the best they could. Covid is the main culprit.
Attentive and knowledgeable server, great wine list, creative cuisine, tasty approachable food for every course from app to salad, main & dessert.
So great to be back at Butch's! Scallops we're perfect as usual with a new twist- saffron. Always great wine options and great service. Attentive but not hurried, just the way a Saturday evening dinner should be. All staff wore masks and servers wore gloves and lots of cleaning between table rotations so we felt very safe.
Wine for every palette. Be sure to ask Butch for some assistance in picking out a few bottles.
Cool setting in downtown Holland, excellent service and a solid menu. I had the scallops and they were done very well, my wife had the filet and it was excellent! Lovely mushroom sauce with the filet. Great pacing with the service. My wife is pregnant, so we did not have drinks but it looks like they have a lovely wine selection.
Salmon spread fell short, truffle fries were good. Steak with roasted potatoes and kale, extremely bland. Filet was cooked well but underwhelming for the price. They do have blue cheese stuffed olives but the dirty martini was so bad I couldn’t finish it. Had to order a wine instead.
A quality dining experience where detail and service excellence matters. If you're a wine enthusiast, Butch's has the best selections on the Lakeshore.
