Story

~ Burrata ~
This deliciously creamy cheese, pronounced boor-RAH-tah, is a specialty of the Apulia region of Italy on the southeast coast or the “heel of the boot.” Burrata, which means “buttery” in Italian, is recognized by many as one of the best fresh cheeses in the world. Made from mozzarella di bufala and panna cream, it is silky on the outside and creamy on the inside, boasting both a buttery & creamy flavor that is sure to please the palate....

And it was this richness in flavor that inspired owner, Kim Tomlinson, to create Burrata Bistro.

With over 30 years experience in the food and beverage industry, Kim has “done it all” in the restaurant business from working the back to the front—from the kitchens to the front door. Completely self-taught, Kim has been making hand-made pastas since she was 12. Having perfected this, she has furthered her art by specializing in desserts and authentic dishes of Europe.

With Burrata Bistro, Kim has taken her extensive knowledge of the business, combined it with her passion for flavor and created a place of exceptional food, at affordable prices, in an atmosphere of warmth, comfort and community.

Featuring authentic Italian cuisine in a comfortable, yet elegant setting in downtown Poulsbo, the Burrata Bistro is open seven days a week from 4:30pm-9:30pm.

You’ll enjoy our pasta and focaccia, made fresh daily in our own kitchens and served with a variety of hand-made sauces, fresh seafood, meats, cheeses and desserts. Paired with a selection from our extensive list of wines from the Northwest, California & Italy, the result is top-quality food made with the freshest of ingredients at a reasonable price.

The Paella Bar is delightful Spanish Restaurant in downtown Poulsbo, WA. We are next door to Burrata Bistro.

It's been a minute since we were able to come back here, but the it was still as amazing as we remember! Food and drinks are excellent, service is friendly and fast, and we love the intimate setting. We tried half of the menu and loved everything. Our favorite was hands down the empanadas, anchovies and the curried butternut squash soup. But everything was great!!!
I know the concept of tapas is about small sharable plates type dining but this place is a bit expensive for what you get. The service is great, the food is delicious, but the wallet will be hurting after only a few small entrées with small portions. I still recommend this place albiet the portion to price ratio is unbalanced.
I hesitate to leave this review. I don't want competition for this hidden treasure! My husband and I eat here regularly and have our "best of Burrata" list on my phone. Our goal is to work through the entire menu. So far, ZERO disappointing items. Favorites, you ask? Gorgonzola salad, baked oysters, razor clams, cod fritters, pork osso bucco, baked chicken you have to start with the focaccia bread. We had friends visiting from Italy, and they said it's some of the best they've ever had. Milo and Nico are magical mix masters, and fascinating to watch behind the bar. The entire staff are genuinely friendly and you leave feeling like you've been in your grandma's kitchen but a magical, fancy version. Pace yourself and visit often. You run the risk of getting Thanksgiving full. We average once a week visits. Pray for my waistline. disclaimer- food in pictures below was consumed over multiple visits!
We had a very unique eating experience here. Our waitress was friendly and helped us navigate the huge selection on the menu. It was fun to select small servings to share and try a variety of different flavors and textures. We would definitely come again. We just kept ordering and eating until we were full! Lol. Or favorites were the Coconut Curry Butternut Squash Soup, Goat Cheese Stuffed Dates Bacon Wrapped with Balsamic Reduction, and the Roasted Brussel Sprouts with Pancetta and Manchego. Yum yum!
Only discovered this place since the restaurant at our hotel was fully booked. Oh boy am I glad I came. We sat at the bar and we’re served immediately. Awesome service, amazing food, and reasonable price. A place a will come back for sure every time I come visit. Thank you to our amazing bartenders/servers, they made our experience so great.
Pretty good Spanish food. Generally one of the only places you're going to find paella on the Kitsap peninsula. So take that into account because you have no other options so..... Have a good tapas menu. There's definitely a good ambiance as well so feel free to whine and done a lady friend ..... a guy friend... I really don't care who you bring actually. But if you want to keep someone in the friend zone stay away from this place because it's oozing romantic charm.
Really good food. We try few tapas and was really good. Ceviche. Pozole. Tortilla chorizo. Focaccia. Calamari. The only one I don’t like to much is the ceviche. The rest of the food test really good. I try a local beer too and was good. The server was good. Atmosphere really quiet. Good. The stuff really friendly. We will be back.Recommended dishesFocaccia, Foccacia
A Poulsbo gem! A must have if you're in town. Poulsbo is such a quaint little town and there are a lot of options but, this place, this place was the best part of it all. We had a variety of tappas on the back alley patio. The atmosphere, our server Samantha, the comprehensive and diverse flavors that we experienced we're incredible! Please stop in, you will not be anything but pleased.
Great little gem in the heart of Poulsbo. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. I would highly recommend this place if you’re ever in town.
Quite little Italian/Spanish restaurant. The short ribs were amazing, flavourful and tender. The paella was good. The ricotta was not the best. Service was efficient.Food: 5/5
