This was a transit center with plenty of people passing through. I appreciated that it was generally clean and that the trains ran regularly on time. There were plenty of advertising space and some fun adds.
Station is very central and easy access if you’re coming from Surrey. A lot of activity in and around the station. Cleanliness can be improved, but the bus stops around the skytrain station are extremely useful to getting around downtown.
Best subway station I’ve seen
Burrard station gives me and many passengers an easy way to the awesome places. And to the place I want to visit to buy amazing souvenirs before my trip to my homeland Philippines. And if you’re planning to do shopping, Burrard is a good and safer place compared to do shopping inside busy and crowded mall.nGreat station. nHave a safe trip everyone!
This station is one of the busiest skytrain station at the heart of downtown Vancouver. It is a convenient location to amenities with its neighbors of high end brand stores, popular restaurants, Pacific Centre mall, financial business centers, hotels, bars, tourists spots, art museum, schools, main offices of a number of distinguished global companies, government offices and walking distance to streets buzzing with entertainment almost every weekend ex. Granville. You can enter from Burrard street walk down flights of stairs, escalators or take the elevator. You can also access the station via Royal Centre shopping mall which can be accessed from Georgia Street, Thurlow, Dunsmuir, Melville and Burrard streets. From the 2 Burrard and Dunsmuir streets directly on opposite ends you go down a flight of stairs, but Burrard street side has 1 escalator heading up then the first landing is the ticket dispenser and you can enter the mall on each side left or right. Then down a flight of escalator to the 2nd landing 3 escalators that has been updated last year depending on peak hours 2 escalators serve the busiest direction people are going through. This landing goes to the Waterfront station and further to the right you go down a short flight of stairs to the 3rd landing and that platform the train goes towards King George. Being several feet below the ground the place is surrounded by bright lights, it's free of trash, very clean and ventilation smells and feels clean as well that you don't feel like you are below ground except when you look beyond the train tracks and see how dark it is then you know you're not outside above ground. At the ticket dispenser there's a small round man-made fountain/pond with surrounded by half moon brick wall that serves as a bench and a divider behind it is a sloped garden that's like a small maze with tall trees and bushes and a pathway of 3 levels that you can roam and hangout. The whole area looks cozy, warm and welcoming against the washroom tile theme layout of the whole station. Like all metropolitan areas you will have the the entertainers at the corner singing or playing an instrument or both for charity. Despite the many different people of all backgrounds and age that go through this station, one rarely experience trouble from troublemakers and people are aloof, but helpful when you need help which I've witnessed since I worked in the area for a couple of years and consistently commuted from 22nd station to Burrard. Overall I would definitely recommend this station.
