Seems like every time I come back it gets slightly better looking, new floor looks good but still a lack of businesses. Hope this mall can get even better
It's no secret that the Burnsville Center has been floundering for several years. The loss of a number of larger/well-known retailers combined with the lack of dining/entertainment options, doesn't make it a top destination to visit. We still find ourselves here often enough as the stores that are here tend to have really great prices/sales. Our most recent stop was this past weekend as there was a large Lunar New Year celebration occurring and we were excited to attend. The festivities were beautiful and it was fabulous to watch. A short time ago, Eden Prairie opened Minnesota's first indoor Asia Mall and the response has been highly positive. Rumors have been circulating for some time now that a similar revamp is in the planning phases for Burnsville Center too. While at the festival, we noticed several posters showing possible renovation ideas, including new shopping and dining places. I am not sure if this project is mall-wide or just for part of the mall. Either way, it will be a very much welcomed update to an otherwise-decent indoor mall. There is so much potential for Burnsville Center, I hope that with this possible revitalization, it can be restored closer to its 'glory days' status. All escalators and elevators appeared to be in working order, which is definitely important for matters of mobility. This mall usually appears well-maintained and clean also. I gave a four star rating over a three star rating as I am hopeful terrific changes will continue to be in store for this mall.
Stunning example of a dying mall. I have visited six times since September 2022 and marveled at the gradual decline. Stains on the carpet magnify and seem to spread everywhere, sucking the light into a void. Stores appear and vanish just as quickly. The entire Sears wing has been declared uninhabitable by the city of Burnsville. See it before it’s torn down, repurposed, or simply walled off from public visitors. Pray at the temple of commerce while you still can.
just went to Burnsville mall center this morning 11/11/2024 @ 9:30 am for a walk, oops for mall walkers the hour change and they never update the website, i Google it n it says that for mall walkers hours from 7am, not today, 9:30am still not opened sigh, waited for few minutes tgen mall security came to open door for us after 9:30 am, if you want to go to Burnsville mall for a walk, you have to go there after 9:30am, otherwise you have to wait in cold n windy lol, besides that the mall is nice n quiet n clean for morning walking, but not much stores are opened business like maybe down to 26 stores in Burnsville shopping mall, sigh. please stop doing online shopping, it hates to see the mall shutting down if no one shopping here, please bring more business in n lower lease too. thx
I remember this mall opening and its heyday in the following two decades. It’s hard to believe that in the 1980’s before the Mall of America opened..Burnsville Center would draw shoppers in from out of state..it’s a shell of its former self and about 60-75% vacant..the food court is about 85% vacant..
