Burlington GO Station

Story

Burlington GO Station is a railway station and bus station in the GO Transit network, located at 2101 Fairview Street in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, just south of Queen Elizabeth Way between Guelph Line and Brant Street.OverviewIt is a stop on the Lakeshore West line train service, and was, for a time, the western terminus of the rail services. Most peak-hour and off-peak trains now terminate service at Aldershot, and a few trains link Hamilton further to the west. There is a separate connecting GO Bus serving McMaster University. There are extensive parking facilities on both the north and south of the station. A large multi-level parking structure opened in 2008, significantly expanding the parking capacity of the station. During weekdays, Burlington Transit serves both sides of the station, connected by wheelchair accessible tunnels under the tracks.HistoryThe original Great Western Railway station was built in 1855, just west of Brant Street, about half a mile west of the current GO Station. With the building of the Hamilton & Northwestern Railway in 1877, this location became a connection known as Burlington Junction. Coords:

Good place to catch the Go Train to Toronto. Left after 1.pm to go to the Toronto Auto show . Train was just about empty, so it was a good time to go. Easy to use Machines to pay for your trip. Also lots of parking outside. Good way to leave the car and enjoy the Train ride.
The Tim hortons always has fresh baked goods and they make the iced Capps perfect. Great for waiting for the train. Staff is very helpful with departure times
No access to bathroom after 9pm. Bus misses train connection ensuring additional 30 minute wait time. All for the 27$ I shelled out to ride the Go. Not worth it.
The announcement system is very laud and its almost impossible to understand what is update. It will be a good idea to install screens on the platform and keep passengers informed about schedule changes
Nice train station very clean and modern. However the vending machine ate my money.
The Tim Hortons is convenient. Waiting areas is spacious. A lot of local bus routes being there.
