I have been a patient of Dr. Sara Kahrobaei's for many years and she has always been open to my lab requests and concerns, allowing me to advocate for myself so that I can be my best, healthy and thriving self. In this day and age where more often than not, patients feel dismissed, minimized and not listened to, Dr. Kahrobaei is a rare gem who is empathetic, reasonable and caring. Our family is so thankful to be under her care. She is also relatively quick to see and the front desk personnel are always kind, professional and easy to get a hold of. This is a fantastic and well-run medical clinic!
I had been a patient at this clinic since birth, alongside both of my parents who still receive care here. As a teenager, I requested to see a female physician and was denied, which led me to transfer to a clinic in New Westminster. After that doctor retired, I returned to Burke in 2018. After temporarily resuming care with Dr. Sclater, I was assigned a series of new female doctors, three in total, due to frequent turnover. Each of them treated me with professionalism and respect, except for N. Ezimora.nnMy experience with N. Ezimora in 2023 was unlike anything I’ve encountered in my lifetime of medical care. I was repeatedly dismissed, patronized, and ultimately removed as a patient for simply advocating for myself. After asking questions or voicing concerns I was called names such as “combative,” “emotional,” and “difficult.” I began needing anti-anxiety medication just to get through basic appointments.nnTo make matters worse, after receiving my medical chart, N. Ezimora made false claims in my notes eliminating my concerns and claiming to be a victim. To my knowledge, a patient’s medical chart is not the correct place to vent unresolved feelings. Being removed from her care while shocking at the time, was ultimately the best possible outcome. The atmosphere at Burke has shifted from supportive to hostile, and I’m deeply concerned about the wellbeing of her patients, with “mental health” being highlighted in her areas of practice. In 32 years of life, I have never had an experience like this with another adult.nnI share this with the hope that others who feel silenced know they’re not alone. We are all human, and deserve to be heard, especially in regard to our health. A big thank you to Dr. K. Sclater for many supportive years. Blessings to you and your family.
I like this clinic.nDr. Ezimora, my gp, has wonderful bedside manner. She's knowledgeable, patient and attentive. I'm very lucky to be under her practice. I'm sure it's challenging to be a family practitioner in this healthcare climate, but she does a good job.
BMMC is an excellent medical clinic for me. I really like their service. They are diligent and much taking care of their patients.
Very good doctors. Not a long wait and the multiple options for booking appointments makes things very easy and flexible. Highly recommend.
