Beautifully appointed, great views and friendly service! We were able to squeeze in on a Friday early evening without a reservation! We were asked in 1.15 would be enough as they had a table coming in and that suited us just fine! The food was tasty and fresh! The cocktails were pretty delightful! It was a great meal all around!
Delicious! Portions were decent. The burrata was a great starter for 3 people. My dad and sister had the local clam spaghetti. I had the crab ravioli with the scallops add on. Although the spaghetti was tasty, I think the crab ravioli in photo was the most loved. Excellent view of the harbour. Classy joint. We will be back for pizza next.
Incredible meal. My husband is a foodie and the joy on his face as he ate each course was wonderful to watch. We will definitely be back and bring friends. This meal was the highlight of our trip to Gibsons.
Excellent place for a drink or a meal or a drink AND a meal. Or just lots of drinks and a few small bites. The service is excellent . The team is committed to quality and it shows. Lots of great dishes to recommend but if you're already staring at the menu then you have your list of recommendations. Ask for the reserve wine list, some excellent bottles to pair with your meal.
The restaurant has a view of the active harbour. The 7 pm Saturday sitting was busy. The music and crowds made the dining room quite noisy. We had the Crab Ravioli and GF spaghetti Bolognese with Cesar salads and large garlic cube croutons. We ended with the gelato and creme brule for desert. The food was excellent and our server was attentive. Very nice, we'll be back.
Started with the meatballs very tender and burrata super smooth pesto. Ordered the porcini ravioli and gnochetti bolognaise excellent, seasoned perfectly. Finished with the chocolate torte strawberry gelato was divine and creme brulee one of the best I've had!. Beautiful little spot by the water, a must try!
On Friday, Sept 10th, my two girlfriends and I arrived in Gibsons late. We had missed our intended ferry from Horseshoe Bay and were looking for somewhere to eat around 7pm. Luckily, even though Buono was busy, they were clearing up a table of to go orders so they had room for us with a 15 minute wait. The smell of the restaurant when you walked in had us drooling. The kitchen, is a partially open concept kitchen on the right as soon as you walk in. We sat down and looked at our menus, and right away couldn't decide, everything looked delicious. We started with the burrara appetizer, because my friends haven't had that before. It was so fresh, and sat on the most vibrant green pesto I'd have ever seen. They have a magnificent wine menu, though we didn't have any alcohol on this occasion. My one girlfriend ordered the ravioli, which indeed looked like a summers day as described. My other girlfriend ordered the Gnochetti Bolognaise, which was a rich slow cooked beef tenderloin ragu sauce that was so decadent. That would be perfect with a Malbec or a Cab Franc. I had the cacio e peppe which came with truffle. It was so delicious. The perfect portion, not overly salty like I've had in some restaurants downtown Vancouver. I wish we had a place like this in the Fraser Valley. By the time our dessert came, a dark chocolate torte, a DJ started playing 90s hip hop. It happens every Friday and Saturday night. We all grew up listening to that music and love it so, it was the perfect start to a much needed girls weekend. We will always remember this meal, thank you to all the wonderful staff!
We did the private dining room chefs tasting menu for 7 people, 5 courses, and everything they brought out was really delicious. For that day we got bruchetta with smoked olives to start, crostini with burrata on top of pesto, four different types of thin Italian brick fired oven pizzas about twelve inches in diameter, two types of pasta dishes split up into four plates, and finally three different types of dessert dishes. Our family was stuffed and had to take some food home. We loved their traditional/creative cocktail list and the Smoke Jumper cocktail shaken with Mezcal was a huge hit for our party. Their staff were friendly and professional during the whole dining service. Would recommend
We were very impressed by the amazing food and service we had at Buono Osteria. Everything was incredible from the service, to the flavours and the presentation of the food. We did the Chef’s choices for our group of 6 and every dish was to die for, the best part was how good we felt after eating all the food, the ingredients are so pure that we never had that uncomfortable full feeling after you eat pizza and pasta. We have found our favourite spot to dine in Gibsons and highly recommend this restaurant to everyone! Make sure to make your reservation before you go. Thank you so much for everything and Congratulations to the Chef for that amazing menu.
Dinner with a nice view and good quality pizza. That’s about it. We had 3 attempts of visiting this restaurant. The first time it was closed mid week. Our bad for not checking the schedule. The second time they did not let us in one hour before they suppose to close because “we had a crazy night and we are tired”. Coming from Vancouver that was pretty strange to hear. The third time we finally got a chance to visit the restaurant as we made a reservation prior to our arrival. The food & drinks quality was good. The dessert was mediocre. I would recommend visiting this restaurant but make sure to have a reservation and arrive early or the staff might be to tired to serve you.
