Bulkley Valley Nordic Centre

Really nice, community run, Nordic/Cross Country Center in mountains outside Smithers, BC. Nordic Center is about half way up on the drive to Hudson Bay. I'm pretty much a novice at cross country skiing, so my review is of the beginner and intermediate trails. I have been there a couple of times now and the trails are always well groomed and the main runs are lighted for night runs. Plenty of runs for us novices and something for the kids too. Trails always have plenty of skiers on them for such a remote location. Lodge has gone under renovations in recent years and is quite nice. Upstairs is a large lodge room with a modestly appointed kitchen. Good for eating a picnic after hitting the trails. Balcony wraps around the outside of the building for some truly awesome views. Trail ticket was a modest $10 Canadian (Cash Only) last time I was there. Skiers without skis can rent xc skis from McBike in downtown Smithers.
