Very untrustworthy business. I used service of this branch four times in 2016 so I would consider myself as a loyal customer. So I was caught by surprise when they charged me 750 EUR two months after I'd returned the car. No explanation, no invoice nor documentation. After I contacted them they claimed the car was damaged but was not aware of any accident or scratch. I filed a dispute with my credit card company and got my money back they obviously had no prove the car was damaged. So I suggest everyone who faces the same issue doing the same.
AVOID!!! It is the worst car rental companies I have ever rented a car from. Dirty, used, and damage car are rented. Being in a hurry to get to an already scheduled meeting I accepted the dirtiness of the car, After driving a few kms the warning light “triangle” on the car’s dashboard signaled an error. I phoned the desk service of the rent-car-company and been advised to return the car back the next day. Without any problem I was provided with a substitute car. The car was taken back by the rent-car-company and the deposit payment was transferred to the substitute car. However, upon return of the substitute car, the Budget AT CAR, s.r.o. refused to refund the deposit payment even though first and second cars were signed back in. Despite the fact that the handover protocol for the substitute car was duly done no problem. I claimed the deposit payment from the company verbally and then via email, nevertheless I was refused with an argument that the first car was damaged by me. No evidence was provided. After engaging a lawyer, I received my deposit back. However, later on I received a claim for an amount about three times higher than the deposit one. This company business model is to maintain their car park from the deposit payments or from some claims for damages that the client obviously did not do. Such behavior damages the reputation of the rent car services, of Prague, and make troubles to a lot of clients as we can find in reviews about Budget.
I have been a loyal customer for years and I was surprised last may when they offered me a better car than I booked. Everything was fine until this week when they took £160 from my account. There was no problems when I hand the car in. But 3 Three months later they said I had scratched a wheel . No invoice billing me. No photographic evidence. Nothing. They have just lost a very valid customer.
Do NOT ever use this company! It is a bunch of liars and thieves. My worst experience ever! You don't get the same car you booked and if you don't pay the expensive insurance you can end up loosing a lot of money in case of any accident. They withdrew money from my card 3 months later after returning the car without approval and they didn't even bother to let me know. The amount they took was absolutely ridiculous the whole deposit value comparing to the actual damage on the car.
THIS IS A FRAUD COMPANY ! , NEVER BOOK A CAR FROM THESE FRAUDSTERS. I booked a car for 1 day drove only 60km on 2.July including a no excess Comprehensive insurance. On pick up the desk handed over the car keys etc. and told me to pick up the car on level 5 of car park opposite the airport. I had no accidents or scratches on the car in any way. On returning the car , there was a thorough inspection noting any and all previous scratches on the car and the inspector all the while saying " this is routine, don't worry you have a full insurance anyway" . 50 days passed and all of a sudden I had a withdrawal from my credit card for 10.000CZK = 436 USD for an alleged damage to the car along with an invoice which was issued 45 days after I returned the car. When I objected , I received an email asking me if it was ok. to refund the amount back to the same Credit card , to which I agreed . But strangely the next day they sent another email which asked for an accident report and copy of Driving licence , this obviously is for an imaginary accident. I reported the case to my bank and am now waiting for the result. FURTHER NEWS in this FRAUD COMPANY'S PROCEDURES . Now they have even gone as far as fraudulently putting a fake signature on a " damage report" and through their bank claiming the 10.000CZK. WHERE ARE YOU BUDGET HEAD OFFICE ? ARE YOU GOING TO LET THESE FRAUDSTERS DRAG YOUR GOOD NAME DOWN ??
After 3 time experience with CZ budget , strongly recommend not to rent a car from here! Especially for business! No invoice, No reply on e mail, no one answer the phone! It doesn't matter which number you call! The most important is that the guarantee charge still holds my credit from my card after 2 weeks! Very poor , almost no customer service!
I am writing this in hopes that it will reach corporate level, not just for this Independent budget licensed branch but for BUDGET. What happened to my wife and I is unacceptable and it should yield an investigation. This woman named Monika Filipova as you can see in the contract was completely drunk and alcohol intoxicated. She could not speak, write, focus, or even perform simple math. We got at the counter at approximately 1 pm. No one in the office but us. She made a disappointed face when she saw us and I asked, is this not a good time? she couldn't even maintain eye contact. Four more customers came in after us and another guy named Luka in the picture took care of them but never bother to help the girl or us. Until I complained and told him we had been waiting for 45 minutes. He then tried to help her but she still couldn't do it. We got charge for Insurance even though it was included then he refunded me. Receipts attached. She started crying because of the frustration that she couldn't even remember how to check us out. See the signature on the contract. Finally I got upset and the guy checked us out. I don't understand why he let her work in that condition or why he couldn't even help us to begin with. They also charged us out of the country fee 42 Euros even though we stayed in Czech. We missed a tour he had booked and our 20th anniversary trip started on the wrong tune. I would like a refund for these services.
I have been using Budget intermittently in Czech for the past 18 years with few problems. Unfortunately, this just changed. A month after returning a car I was just charged 10,000kč with no notice, explanation email or phone call in spite of their having all of my information. This is totally unprofessional behavior and I will no longer be using them. Now, the challenge is to find out why they took money directly from my account!
They just took my deposit of 380 euros two months after I rented the car. I called them and they told me they found a scratch. Of course there was no scratch on the car when I returned it and no one in the agency ever contacted me about it in two months ! Reading the other comments it seems they do it quite often so I suggest you to avoid this agency !
100% FRAUD!! My car was a Peugeot, it had so many scrapes and scratches etc....one in particular was a massive scrape in the middle of the rear bumper but as usual was not recorded just like all scratches on the car...lots of stone chips on the windscreen.I had to go 3 times back to the rental desk to keep showing them damage, if i said nothing they would charge me for the bumpers as well!!!!!! The car was marked from previous rental as "Brand New" which is such a lie! The guy from Budget did not even want to write all the damage i was telling him and only marked the main damage in the middle of the rear bumper. It was a hot day, so air con was on full, driving back on the motorway and hit a bump and the stone chipped windscreen turned into a crack and i was put to blame. This is not the end, i am taking legal action against this because if the car had no damage fair enough...but the car had so much scrapes and chips that was not noted i had to force the counter staff to write it down and even then they were not happy. CARS ARE NOT CHECKED AND WILL COST YOU HUNDREDS WHEN RETURNING IT!
