Booked this venue for our wedding — the day turned out beautiful, food was good, serving staff was kind, management however, was disorganized and difficult.nThe venue is really hard to beat, visually, but management wasn’t able to keep track of emails and charges, as well there were many communication issues, and it became a big stress preparing for, on, AND after the wedding
We had our wedding and our reception at Bryston's, June 22nd, 2024. The food was lovely, we got lots of compliments from our guests, and we did end up going with the buffet option.nMy husband and I were happy with the overall food and atmosphere, but not with the owners. Mel wanted our wedding planners and her staff to start cleaning up and putting decor away before 9:00 p.m. We also requested signature cocktails and specialty beer, which never happened . I would definitely recommend having your ceremony and your dinner there if you're going to utilize the buffet option, but maybe not the best spot for the reception as well.
Mel & Norm always do an amazing job catering whatever events I’m at. The food is delicious and service impeccable. The venue has history and warmth. It’s always nice to visit.
I had the catering services booked from Bryston’s for a an event for 60 people and the food was great- very good quality. The staff service however was not as expected, on-site staff were not responsive, hence the 3- star rating. Also, the quantity was not enough.
If I could give no stars I would. Going into the first meeting we had a pretty good idea of how many platters we wanted for the wedding. We were talked down and basically told it would be too much food and that it would be wasteful. After further discussion we settled on an amount that Mel deemed appropriate and was assured it would be enough for almost 30 more people than were coming. Perfect right!? Considering this is her job, we figured she would know what was appropriate and trusted it would be enough. Unfortunately this was not the case with food running out before the line ended.nnThey forgot the wine at the head table and when asked about it they told us they “lost it” then messed up the amount of wine on the guest tables and ended up charging us for 4 extra bottles of wine that we had already paid for.nnOn top of that the food was not ready on time and when we asked for the pizza that Mel was supposed to bring later in the evening to be served earlier, seeing as the amount of platters promised was in fact not enough to feed our guests, they met us with attitude. Mel then refused to come back to the venue and sent her husband instead. Who then argued that this is what we paid for…What we paid for? I’m sorry but what we paid for was for our guests to have enough food.nnSo unprofessional. Extremely disappointed especially because the amount we did pay did not justify what we received. I would never in this lifetime recommend this catering company. Honestly save your money and look elsewhere. Seems we aren’t the only ones with this experience.
