I was kind of expecting something prettier since I'd heard a lot about it. Human infrastructure in the area detracts from the natural beauty, but it's still a nice place to be outdoors. Dog-friendliness: We didn't see any other people so I let my dog roam off-leash. I'm guessing that's not really allowed. She loved it though!
Although there is a new building apparently in progress, the site seems neglected. Some of the paths are grown over. We saw a cool camping tent and a very cool dead cat on the main path. There were a few other people there, so I suppose it's not completely forgotten. There's also a huge gap next to the fence in front of the cave if you're into things like gaps.
I love this walking path. It's a little hard to find the trail right now but that is due to the snow covering the shady areas. It is in a rougher area but I have not had anyone approach me yet. Restrooms: Portapotty on site Dog-friendliness: It is an outdoor area so very dog friendly. However it is next to a low traffic train yard.
Ongoing restoration projects are rejuvenating this area as it was before being a rail yard. While you could spend more time watching and listening to the birds and exploring the 'white cliffs', you can make your way around the main path in less than an hour, so it's nice for a short getaway for urbanites.
Nice expansive area next to the mighty Mississippi. 1.1 mile dirt trail starting with attractive information kiosks.
Follow this trail all the way up to Maplewood it is a nice grade fully dedicated path that never gets too crowded.
I was scared by giant potholes and a screen missing at the electric charging station screen missing but the trail might be better than the parking lotVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
I like this place but I wonder how many trees are in the whole park and it would be nice if they had a sign showing how many trees are in the park
It's a nice park. Right by my house. But the homeless are destroying it. Trash here clothes there. Homeless people give us our parks back. Deer clean up after themselves better than you doVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
The Bruce Vento is a great little park with trails through a beautiful urban prairie with ponds, bluffs, and the nearby river all within view.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entryFree
