The course was established in 1938 and located in Burton, Michigan. Affordably priced, IMA Brookwood is located just north of I69 at the Belsay Road exit.Amenities include a full-service beverage cart, golf shop, a state-of-the-art practice facility, two practice greens, an outdoor grill with delicious grilled food, cold beverages and snacks. Don't put those clubs away! Come out and play golf at a host of golf courses on one of our three state of the art Golf Simulators for indoor play in the winter. played course a few years ago! with a group the starter put groups in front of us on the back nine we had to wait to tee off after a 3 hour front nine....i went home.
Nice course, well kept fair rates and a friendly staff. Was busy though, a little bit of waiting. The cart girl was very attentative when we played the front, but we only saw her once on the back.
Though the course is kept up well, the professionalism is just not there. First, the course is way over booked and both the patrons and the "rangers" are rude for no reason. Proper golf etiquette says to let others play through when you find yourself moving slower with nobody in front of you. The ranger told us to play "hurry up golf" after we had just let another group pass. One of the men in the group behind us yelled for us to shut up and hit the ball with a few choice words added in while we were waiting for the group in front to get out of range. We proceeded to hit nearly hitting the group in front within 5 yards, just to get yelled at by the rangers. By no means were we playing slow to begin with. Overall, the way we were treated on this course is ridiculous. I will be taking my business elsewhere and I am not the only one.
Some of the greens and fairways could use some work, some underdrain is necessary on a few of the holes. Aside from the water retention the course is generally in good condition, with some holes being in top condition, staff is friendly, the price might be a little high for a non-profit though.
People who work here are wonderful! I bring my kids and they are always understanding and accommodating, but I am always respectful of pace of play with them. Get what you give. Respect the game and you get it back.
The Easter brunch was excellent with a very good price. We have been there before and at the last two visits, the manager has asked us to leave within the next five minutes because she has the table reserved for someone else. How rude, especially when we were surrounded by alot of empty tables! She needs a class in restaurant etiquette.
Excellent venue, excellent food, but unfortunately the Catering Manager / Administrative Assistant was horribly rude at the end of our event. Our event was scheduled to end at 5pm but to our dismay the staff began hurrying to clear tablecloths and encouraging guests to exit early. We were rushed to take down our decor and stop our celebration 15 min before the contracted end time. I received several complaints from many of my guests about rude comments made by some of the staff. I was considering using this venue again next year for my second daughter’s graduation celebration but due to this treatment, I will not. I will not recommend this venue to anyone I know! A more kind, respectful and patient catering manager would’ve helped create a perfect end to an otherwise perfect day.
always fun playing this course. For a public course imo its always well groomed and they do a decent job with the greens.
My husband and I had our wedding reception September 8th and it was fantastic! Lisa and her team were so helpful during the process of planing everything and we trusted them completely. It was such a great night and we're so happy we chose IMA for our wedding reception.
Great course. Well maintained friendly staff.
