Brogden's is a hidden gem of a restaurant that makes good old fashioned home-cooked meals that taste awesome and reasonably priced in a day and age when restauranting is so expensive. Two of us had calves liver and onions and seriously, the best restaurant liver I have ever had and I've eaten it in 5 star restaurants. It was juicy, flavourful and absolutely melted in my mouth. One had the fish and chips and everything was hot and crispy, coleslaw; tarter & aoli sauce homemade. With 2 glasses of bubbly and an 8 oz glass of Pino Grigio, the total bill was $70.00. That is not the only meal we've had. Their brunches are devine and the only place I've ever been to and able to order a half eggs Benedict. Mimosa 6.98! Seriously, make the trip to Waterdown. Don't shy away that it is in a strip mall right beside Bulk Barn. You walk through the door and you will be so surprised at how lovely the staff, decorand the ambiance complete with fireplace. We are determined to go back to try every menu item
This is a lovely family restaurant in Waterdown. The service is friendly. The homefries is crispy. And there are three eggs on the eggs benny! Their fish and chips Friday is a great deal too. The renovations were really great — a very classy place.
My wife and I visited for the first time for my birthday brunch. Service was great and the food was awesome. My wife and I both chose breakfast meals off the menu and the food was amazing. Food showed up within minutes of ordering and was still nice and hot when it got to the table. It was by fare the best breakfast/brunch we have had. The owner Mike even came to our table to say hi and to see how everything was. He was very polite and professional. We will definitely be back again.
Went to Brogden's yesterday for the first time. We weren't sure what to expect when we opened the door. Very nice place and the food was quite good and tasted homemade and very good pricing. This was a very nice surprise and we will definitely be going back again for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We thought it would be like Angels diner which in my opinion was a bit nasty. Totally different the place was clean, modern and the food was very good! Pricing was excellent! A hidden gem in Waterdown!
We tried their Calf Livers. So tender and tasty. Most other places I tried were dry and leathery. We also ordered Montreal Smoked Meat. They were very good. We were told the chef smoked their own meat. No wonder they were so good.
Wow, what a great restaurant, besides the terrific food, the staff Taylor and Manager Karen we’re outstanding. Attentive to our needs at all costs. Friendly, courteous and genuine people. Get the mushroom soup!!! To die for. We will be back!! Thank you
Have done dine in and take out during lockdown. Food is ok, but the fish is not that greatest. Too much batter why can make it taste greasy by the time you cut though the layers. We have ordered the fish on both occasions hoping it would be better but sadly not.
I do not have anything good to say about this restaurant. The wait for our food was 65 minutes from the time of order 9:50-10:55 even though the dining area was 1/2 full. The staff were overheard telling patrons a variety of excuses including "cook staff did not show up or were late," "we were not expecting the turnout," "our staff do not know the menu," and "each order is made from scratch." When the food did arrive, our breakfast was completely underwhelming. The eggs were overcooked over easy vs. over hard, the pancakes were dense, and some of the portions were small for the price. The owner did attend to table to apologize for the wait but no compensation was provided even when patrons identified issues with their orders. There are renovations scheduled for January 2020 and I sincerely hope that more reliable staff are hired and that they are required to take mandatory training. I will not be returning.
Oh my goodness, what a hidden gem in waterdown. We planted ourselves here prior to the Santa Claus Parade. The gal who asked us if we had reservations was just so kind as they managed to squeeze us in 2 adults and 3 grandgirls I had called earlier and was told to head up...now mind you, I had indicated that I would be there by 5 and we got distracted and didn't arrive until 5:30 to a very packed dining room. Loved the change in decor as I had frequented the previous restaurant for breakfast and it was a fav. The decor is spacious and very cool vibe. The food.special menu for the Santa Claus Parade was yummy. They had some great option for all ages, but girls loved the fresh chicken fingers and grilled cheese and FRIES were amazing 2 of us ordered the burger and it was fresh and delicious as well. Prices were refreshing and not exorbitant. I know I had one grand girl that was disappointed as wings were not on the menu but I told her and the waitress, that we would definitely be back to order wings and other menu items. Special thanks for accommodating us as such late notice on a very busy night!
I selected the liver/ potatoes/ veg meal which was outstanding. When I asked for minimal gravy it was served on the side in a small pitcher. A lovely dining experience for the location, service and menu.
