Absolutely loved this place and the only downside waa that I didn't get to come back before I left town. Will definitely be there whenever in Plymouth!
Loved my visit to this place. It had a friendly atmosphere and the bar tender was attentive and you could tell she loved her job.
Great locals bar! Always feels like home.
This place is a little weird, but always have good beer. The other BBC's are pretty nice places, this One is like a classic dive bar. It's right off the main street in Plymouth, with a public parking lot right next to it, so it's a really great location. Place to just kind of dive. Furniture is pretty beat up, you definitely have your regulars who take up most of the bar downstairs, the place is tiny and darkly lit. But like I said good beer, sometimes you just got to wait a little while for the one bartender, who always seems to be same person working, to have time to serve you because they spends so much time catering and talking to the regulars. As much as I usually like sitting at an actual bar, here I like to go upstairs whether it's like a little sitting room up a spiral staircase. That you still have games and a couch and more comfortable stuff up there but now it's just a couple hard chairs. That might have changed because of covid and maybe they just haven't changed it back yet. The downstairs is just really small and it's usually really full. They often have rugby matches playing which is really nice. But it gets really busy and cramps when there is a game.
Great atmosphere. Service is also always wonderful.
I love going to taverns and pubs. BBC definitely has the European tone and that's what gives it such a unique appeal. There are 2 levels: bar is downstairs and upstairs theres a lounge area with high-tops as well as dart boards. I went bar hopping with a group of friends in Plymouth and we spent most of our time at this place because of the cool vibe. One another thing I like to add is that you pick your songs there!
My husband and I stepped in here and were immediately turned off by the environment. We both agree that it felt unfriendly. We ended up leaving. I’m not sure why they have the BBC name but they don’t serve any food.
My home away from home while in the NE area, nice to get the atmosphere of a pub back in England without the sports bar feel you get in most American establishments.
The best bar in Plymouth. Great dive for locals and tourists alike, tons of great characters, and always good beer on tap.
My favorite one. Its everything you want in a good British pub. Nothing fancy, and only drinks at this location. But it's perfect. I love the atmosphere and aesthetics of this place. It's very small which adds to its charm. My favorite part is the metal spiral staircase that takes you up to the second story where you can lounge on distressed leather furniture, play a round of darts, watch TV, or play Jenga and laugh at the ridiculous expletives prior patrons wrote. Perfect spot to spend an hour or two
