The park was easy to find. It is located just of highway 3 west of the city. There is pavement all the way including in the park. Signage is adequate. Check in was efficient and friendly. The rules are fairly basic. The interior roads are in good condition. Our site, 98, was a gravel based pull through that was easily long enough for our Coach and Towed. Services 30/50 amp, water and sewer only were to the left side. Distancing is very good for an urban park. Each site has a table but I’m not sure about a fire pit. Our site was flat and even. Overall the park was nicely laid out. The park included wifi is only good for one hour after that it is pay. There is NO cable TV but we did find ONE OTA channel. Satellite should not be difficult. We did not use the washrooms or showers but we checked and found them clean. There are no restaurants or stores within easy walking distance but just a short drive away you can find food, shopping and convenience stores. We found this park to be an okay overnighter. We paid $52.50 inc taxes per night and we feel we received fair value. We will be back if in the area again.
It was a little confusing to get to, the signs coming from BC were tiny and faded and you had to take a u-turn to get to it. Coming from the other way though the signage was better. The site was clean and private, the showers were clean although an 8 minute shower is a bit short. Plenty of garbage cans around as wellRooms: 4/5
We had a very enjoyable stay. Campground very well maintained. Staff working hard every day we seen them. Pool was clean, washrooms and showers very good condition and clean. We stayed in the Wilderness area which is natural sites lots of privacy. Will be returning for sure.
Stayed here last summer and loved it. Stayed again this year and although the campground is in great shape and really enjoy the lower area in the trees, the park has been sold and is in the process of changing to a KOA so with that comes the changes. They forced us to pay an extra $55 per night so the teenagers with us could pitch a tent on a separate site and would not allow them on our RV site. I get an extra charge for a tent but to force you to pay for an entire other site is really expensive and annoying. Pool area is great and love the campground but won't be coming back with the changes to a KOA and the increase in costs to stay at one.
This campground has some good features, but they are outweighed by a plethora of negative aspects. I can't recommend this place and I won't return. This is not because of the staff of whom I had very little interaction with. I wouldn't say the staff was overly friendly, but they certainly were not rude. The good: - Close access to the Old Man River for fishing we caught a legal Walleye and cleaned it up for dinner - Outdoor swimming pool - Laundry and showers available - Upstairs games room - Online reservations available - Wifi throughout campground for a price The bad: - The price per night is way too high - The size of each site is small expect to have your neighbours slide in your site - The size of each site is tiny just to ensure I drive the point above home, these sites are the smallest I've ever camped in - In full service sites, expect to have your neighbours sewer connection beside your picnic table not joking about this - Underground sprinklers mean you have to pack everything up for the night unless you want it wet in the morning and our site even sprayed our trailer and the gravel pad where we were told our things would not get wet... - The proximity to the downhill/uphill highway that enters/leaves the city is probably the worst part about this campground the noise from engines, horns and worst of all the engine retarder brakes, is IMMENSE and always persistent - There are two entry lanes to the campground and they both pass by the office, if both lanes are occupied with people checking in, expect to wait, even if you just need to get to your already checked in site
Good campground, well maintained and clean. Only issue is the noise from the highway right above. Had a river to walk to, a pool, and staff are very friendly and helpful. Good location to everything as well.Service: 4/5
The staff be were good, the park looks clean and is transforming to a KOA. Bad news is that my to wife and I went to use the showers. Had to get a token from the office included in the price but neither of us had hot water. At our senior age this is just unacceptable.
Nice campground close to Lethbridge. Will hear highway noise if parked up top, not as much in the lower treed area. A couple small playground & a pool water was pretty cold tho, even on +30 days for the kids. WiFi is only 1hr a day & not sure how they track that. There's a pool table, shuffler board, chess board & TV couches & DVD player on the upper floor too if you need something to do no AC so it gets hot in summer.
Tented in the wilderness portion of this campground and it was very nice. Sites weren't huge but we were able to set up our big tent and a camp kitchen with out a problem. Bit of a walk to the washrooms but not bad. One of the cleanest washrooms/showers I've seen in a campground as well. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. There's a pool and a game room also. Would totally camp there again.
My daughter loves the pool. The store is well stocked. The camping spots are packed pretty tight together. That said, in the part of the camping area with trees, there is lots of great shade. The hookup to dump your tanks is almost in the middle of your neighbors prime camping space which is kind of gross for your neighbour. But the most challenging thing about the resort is the proximity to the highway. And not just any highway. It's a highway running on a long steep hill. So the trucks coming down the hill are running thier engine retarder brakes. And the trucks driving up the hill are downshifted and running thier engines hard as they climb the hill. Needless to say, it is brutality noisy.
