Bread and Chocolate

Since my daughter moved to St. Paul we have been enjoying catching up at Bread & Chocolate over delicious coffee and scones. Cozy atmosphere and friendly staff in a lovely Grand Avenue neighborhood. Check it out!

CLatte style, lighting fast service.. they definitely have that down. Ordered a couple pastries coffee and was able to find a seat within minutes. Ample seating for such a high traffic corner location. Service is cattle herd proof and have no complaints. Ok, pastries... at first look I was not impressed and my first bite of my almond croissant had a hint of cheese?? A bit of cross flavoring going on maybe?? The croissants lacked that artisan flacky crust that I've been searching for here in the States. When I made it to the almond filling everything seemed to come together much better. Both my pastries had wonder fillings with my chocolate croissant actually having... dare I say, in the USA,... over the top amount. My coffee was good and hot, don't tend to go for the fancy sugar drinks. Authentic café et pâtisserie expierence? hmmm... maybe not so much, but a quick tasty, high traffic, morning pick me up... sure!

Bread + Choclate the name of this cafe speaks to my soul. -5 degrees this morning as Brittany Mueller and I ventured out for breakfast and coffee. I had the choclate + cream chesse crossiant and it was delectable. Highly recommend if you are ever in Saint Paul. It's worth freezing your face off.

A cute cafe with good coffee and a nice assortment of various pastries - from cookies to fudge to croissants. The desserts are decent, nothing exceptional.

My morning was made even better by chossing Bread & Chocolate for breakfast. It was a cute little coffee shop on Grand Ave. I ordered an Iced Raspberry White Mocha and a chocolate croissant. The coffee was a little sweet for me, but the croissant was the best chocolate croissant I’ve had to date. It crunched when I pulled a piece off it off, was moist inside, and the chocolate consistency inside was cake-like, not liquidy like most. If I could rate them 10 stars I would.

Excellent place to grab brunch. The croissants were excellent! The coffee was great. The desserts and cookies were AMAAAZING. Loved the oatmeal and chocolate cookies. Definitely super high quality cookies here! The sandwiches are tasty and fresh. The sandwiches were definitely made fresh as you can tell that it was made and not premade. I love that! Oh yeah, the cookies. Do not pass on the cookies if you love cookies. The employees were nice and super helpful, even when they were busy. Parking is a bit of a hassle on the street BUT you can park behind the building and it's an EASY walk to get there. So, if you can't find street parking, you can always park in the lot behind the building. Overall, a great place on Grand Ave.

Incredibly slow. Incredibly rude.I ordered 30 minutes ahead. Went to pick up. My order was scheduled to be ready 10 minutes earlier. Still wasn’t done. They were snappy and rude saying it’s busy when there was no line. Not even my drink was ready. Watched person after person show up and order in person and leave ahead of me. No apology. Just attitude. I was late for work because of it. Their excuse was that I ordered a panini. It doesn’t take 40 minutes to make one sandwich. They literally started my drink after the sandwich came out. First time here. Never again. You can be behind, but act like you care.

I love this place, it’s simple and down to earth. The menu is a no fuss straightforward deal. Their sandwiches are amazing “I love their Smoked Turkey sandwich with pepper sauce”. Coffee & baked goods are great. Indoor & outdoor seating and the prices are reasonable. Plenty of parking behind the building but can be tricky to find a spot on weekends. Nice place to go on your weekends or if you’re in the area.

Everything is so good! I had the raspberry white chocolate, loved it!

The tuna melt was great... The chocolate croissant was strange. Instead of the traditional chocolate filling, it looked like it was full of chocolate cake?. It was decidedly...odd. I liked the tuna melt though
