I recently was admitted to Brantford General for a total knee replacement. I had not been hospitalized since our last child was born 44 years ago. I was amazed at what a good experience I had. From the time I was admitted to day surgery, I was so well taken care of. All the staff from Day Surgery, Recovery and B5 were great- explaining everything clearly and making sure I was comfortable and safe. I was very impressed! Keep up the great work!
I saw a cardiologist there, old man with strong accent. Told me my symptoms was anxiety and I said nope, I want a full cardiac work-up. He started me with the halter monitor for 2 weeks and the day after I took it off, I went to the hospital because my arm went numb. I sat in the waiting room for 8 hours while having a stroke. The staff in emerg were so incompetent, they didn't recognize the signs of a stroke. I didn't get a room on the Cardiac floor...I got a make shift room at the end of a hallway next to an emergency exit, security camera above my bed and a folding wall. Oh! And a bell for an emergency. I'm lucky that I didn't have another stroke while waiting. There is a med that has to be administered asap when having one...I never got it until 12 hours later. Pretty messed up. I will never forget the triage nurse and I will never let her near me again.
I went there for trouble swallowing and had to do a contrast xray on my throat and guess what I swallow it and I felt like throwing up I said I needed a minute and he said “NOPE I can’t do it” and leaves not giving me a minute to talk then I asked her to call him back over here bc I need this done I’m so skinny. And can’t eat. And she called and he said “no” he won’t do it bc I needed a minute??? I’m 17 I shouldn’t have to worry about only eating soup. And not being able to gain weight or being very under weight VERY rude I didn’t even get it done. I am so mad bc I want to go out n eat and live my life NORMAL I can’t go to school bc I can’t eat normal food to the point I get dizzy. I hope I never get that doctor again.
I have so many good things to say about this hospital and the staff, but most especially about my birthing experience. I have had 2 babies here and the experience has only gotten better each time. A big shout out to the nurses who delivered my baby on July 2nd 2024 @1:06am, the care I was given was just exceptional-you guys are amazing, God bless your hearts. There is a particular nurse I can’t believe I forgot her name :. I have honestly never seen a nurse as caring as her. She did something it’s private so I won’t go into the details for me which i don’t think any nurse will ever do especially without being asked. I was really shocked. If she reads my comment, she will recognize herself as she even came to the pp section the next day just to say hi to us before starting her shift. My dear if you read this, know I will forever be grateful for all you did.nI am sure you extend this same love n care to all your patients and for that, I pray the Lord blesses you abundantly .nnOver all, to all the staff at BCHS, I say a very big thank you. You all are amazing starting all the way from the ER. Against all odds, you all still mange to provide us with the care we need.nGod bless your hearts.
This by far is one of the worst hospitals i have seen and been to. If your loved one is passing away I do not recommend you bring them here!!! If you are in health care your self they will jump for your loved one if you have no idea about Healthcare you will fall between the cracks!!!!! There was one amazing nurse on the whole floor of floor 8 and her name starts with an A..... other then that they staff feel short of kind caring compassionate, they do not change the patients they leave food in their mouths if they can't swallow.... same with medication..... this hospital turned my stomach!!! Has some one in health care who deal with patients who pass every day I 100% recommend if your family is passingget them to a hospice not this hospital..
