Bayers Road Bowlarama was the first location of what soon became the largest candlepin bowling chain in the world.

Bayers Road Bowlarama is conveniently located at the at the rear entrance of The Bayers Road Centre, with easy access from the three major routes leading to Halifax: the Mackay Bridge (from Dartmouth and all points East), the Bicentennial Highway (for all points South) and Bedford Highway.

Terrific experience! The staff went above and beyond to accommodate our daughter and our family. Having never been there before we didn't expect loud music and laser lights, full lanes of bowlers and plenty of noise at 2pm. If you're a timid 3yr old like ours it was very overwhelming. The staff went out of their way to make her feel welcome and to take our time getting used to the environment. They gave her a plush toy, turned the music down slightly and allowed her to walk to a quieter part of the alley and select a lane. She warmed up right away and we had an excellent time. The shoes and bowling pin stuffy were an amazing touch. Fresh popcorn and beer specials were very welcomed by the adults. Well done Bowlarama and hats off to the Desmond location staff in Halifax!
My son and I were visiting our doctor, but had a few mins to kill, my 6 year old wanted to see the bowlarama. George was so kind to answer questions and even let my little guy throw a couple balls! I was so impressed with his kindness! Thanks for making my sons day! We will be back for future bowls!
Awesome staff! We had a birthday bowling day Easter weekend. The dudes were wearing Easter bunny ears which was pretty hilarious and they were super nice to myself and my family. Great family afternoon.
This bowlarama still has the old fashioned bowling that is great for kids and adults to have fun! In the past we had our son and afew other kids at a different bowlarama and it was very tightly controlled the lane had a timer countdown and a system that automatically resets the pins after 3 balls it wasn’t much fun for the kids as they needed some practice and “extra” throws to get a feel for it. The Bayer’s Road location was great as we all got to practice and have fun! The staff was very helpful and kind to my kid and really made us feel welcome. Overall it was a lovely time and I prefer it over the excessively “high tech” locations! We will be back!
We attended a birthday party here and the kids had a blast! There were a few dedicated lanes and a small 'room' with a curtain with a table for food and coats. A few times the gutters kept going down and the gentlemen working came right over to put them back up. Washrooms are handy and there's a decent amount of parking in the lot behind the building and on the street.
